Soften dry patches with calendula.

Calendula’s fatty acids lock moisture into dry skin, and when coupled with brown sugar (its granules exfoliate), they help make skin feel baby-soft — stat!

Try it: Mix 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of calendula oil like Herb Pharm Calendula Oil (Buy on Amazon, $12.50). Rub on damp skin for 1 minute, then rinse.

Calm ruddiness with rose.

“Rose’s potent anti-inflammatory properties soothe skin irritation fast,” says Janice Cox, author of Natural Beauty from the Garden. And the bloom’s antioxidants mend skin’s barrier to prevent new rashes.

Try it: Mist rashy skin with a rosewater spray, like Heritage Store Rosewater Spray (Buy on Amazon, $9.49). Tip: Store in the fridge before use — the chilled liquid helps shrink rednesscausing blood vessels.

Restore luster with peony.

The vitamin C in the flower’s extract naturally brightens skin and helps remove layers of dead, dry cells to reveal healthy, luminous skin underneath. Plus, the bloom contains flavonoids that deeply hydrate to enhance skin’s glow.

Try it: Rub a nickel-size amount of peony extract–infused moisturizer like L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer (Buy at Walgreens, $8.99) onto the face twice a day.

Smooth wrinkles with dandelion.

Packed with antioxidants, dandelion repairs damaged, creased skin on the face and body, says Cox. Even better? The flower’s root is a rich source of vitamin A, which increases skin-firming collagen and elastin production to further reduce the appearance of fine lines. Combining it with exfoliating yogurt speeds the skin-smoothing results.

Try it: Mix 4 drops of dandelion root extract like Gaia Herbs Dandelion Root Extract, (Buy on GaiaHerbs.com, $14.99) with 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt. Rub onto areas of wrinkly skin. Let sit for 10 minutes; rinse.

Plump hair with jasmine.

Unique compounds in the fragrant flower remove follicle-clogging buildup on the scalp to encourage healthy hair growth. Plus, fatty acids in the bloom’s oil plump the diameter of each strand for instant volume. And pairing with olive oil (its squalane hydrates) nourishes hair even more.

Try it: Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil and 4 drops of jasmine essential oil like Mary Tylor Naturals Jasmine Essential Oil (Buy on Amazon, $12.95). Apply all over damp hair. Let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse.
