6 DIY Beauty Treatments Made With Juice That’ll Thicken Hair, Fade Fine Lines, Slim a Double Chin, and More

You already know fresh fruit and vegetable juice makes a delicious, good-for-you drink — but did you know it can also remedy thinning hair, smooth your skin, and speed up weight loss? It’s easy to get beautiful, radiant skin and hair with topical treatments made from nutrient-rich fruit and veggie juices, and we’ve got recipes to nix a double chin, thicken hair, and more. Keep scrolling to find the best one for you!

Don’t have a juicer? Check out the Omega 365 Cold Press Juicer (now on sale for $110, Amazon), which lets you easily juice everything from kale and celery to grapefruit and pineapple.

Thicken hair with an apple juice conditioner.

Rich in B vitamins and antioxidants, the juice from apples stimulates follicles and encourages healthy hair growth. And pairing it with protein-packed yogurt strengthens hair at the root to reduce shedding for an even thicker-looking mane.

TRY IT! Mix a tablespoon of apple juice and two tablespoons of yogurt. Apply to damp hair from roots to ends. Let sit for 15 minutes; rinse.

Slim a double chin with a celery juice compress.

The crunchy veggie’s juice contains potent anti-inflammatory compounds that help alleviate swelling under the chin when applied to the skin. “Plus, silica in celery boosts moisture and elasticity to keep skin looking youthful and supple,” says celebrity aesthetician Joanna Vargas.

TRY IT! Juice one stalk of celery, then soak a washcloth in the liquid. Wring out excess juice and place the washcloth under your chin. Let sit for 10 minutes; remove and rinse.

Erase age spots with a pineapple juice treatment.

Packed with the enzyme bromelain, pineapple juice gently sloughs off the buildup of dead, discolored skin cells. The fruit also contains skin-brightening vitamin C that further diminishes brown spots to speed results.

TRY IT! Saturate cotton balls with pineapple juice, then place onto areas with spots, like on the hands, neck, and face. Let sit for 10 minutes; remove and rinse.

Fade fine lines with a carrot juice facial.

Vitamin A and beta-carotene in carrots increase collagen production to firm skin and smooth out wrinkles. Even better? Antioxidants in the veggie protect skin from wrinkle-causing UV rays to prevent new lines from forming. And mixing it with hydrating honey instantly plumps skin to make creases look less noticeable.

TRY IT! In a small bowl, combine a teaspoon of carrot juice with two teaspoons of honey. Apply to the face and let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse.

Diminish dark circles with a kale juice mask.

The leafy green’s vitamin K promotes healthy blood circulation so fluids won’t pool beneath eyes and create shadows, says Vargas. What’s more, vitamins A and C in kale thicken the thin, delicate skin under the eyes so dark circles are less apparent over time.

TRY IT! Juice one cup of kale, then cut a cotton pad in half and soak both halves in the liquid. Place on skin under the eyes for 10 minutes; remove and rinse.

Flushes toxins and speed up weight loss by drinking green juice.

Mix three stalks of celery, one cucumber, four kale leaves, an apple and the juice of one lemon in a blender. Strain the liquid into a glass and enjoy! (Alternatively, you can juice them in a cold press juicer.) These fruits and veggies contain detoxifying compounds that, when ingested, boost circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system to flush trapped toxins and excess fluids that “swell” the stomach.
