Get Rid of Ragged Nails
To keep the skin around your nails looking its best, mix 1⁄4 cup of almond oil, like this one from Viva Naturals ($12.62, Amazon) into a bowl, then soak your digits for 10 minutes before massaging in the residue. Its rich vitamin E will moisturize cuticles and further protect them from the pesky peeling, cracking, and drying, all of which can result in painful hangnails.
Make Yellow Nails Clear
In a bowl, mix the juice from half a lemon (about 1 Tbs. of Nellie & Joe’s Key West lemon juice, $6.89, Amazon) with 1 cup of warm water, soak nails for 15 minutes, then buff them with the leftover lemon rind. The fruit’s citric acid lifts stains embedded deep within nails, while its vitamin C further brightens.
