Ashley Newbrough Movies: The Hallmark Star’s Must-See Films

Ashley Newbrough might not have as many Hallmark movies under her belt like many of the Channel’s veteran leading ladies, but with her sweet charm and relatable affect, the U.S.-born, Canada-raised actress is quickly becoming one of our favorite actresses.

Getting her start in a number of commercials as a young girl, her first acting credit was an episode of The Zack Files in 2000. Roles that followed were those in films and series like Get a Clue, The Coven, Radio Free Roscoe and The Best Years. Some of her more notable roles were in series like Rent-a-Goalie, Privileged and Mistresses. It wasn’t until 2015 that she broke out into the Hallmark Channel scene with her starring role in Love Under the Stars.

Since then, she’s had numerous roles on Hallmark, with a new film coming out on January 6, 8/7c! Here, check out our favorite Ashley Newbrough movies!

Love Under the Stars (2015)

Becca (Newbrough) is a free-spirited graduate student who forms an unlikely friendship with a young girl named Emily (Jaeda Lily Miller) who has recently lost her mother.

The two end up learning a lot from one another: Emily starts to come out of her shell with Becca’s help, and Becca learns a thing or two about adult responsibilities. Meanwhile, something starts to blossom between Becca and Emily’s father, Nate (Wes Brown).

Small Town Christmas (2018)

Nell’s (Newbrough) book tour takes her to the stop of Springdale, which just so happens to be the hometown of Emmett (Kristoffer Polaha), an old co-worker who stood her up on their first date years ago and left town with no explanation. As she spends more time in Springdale, the story behind Emmett’s sudden departure is revealed and old feelings start coming to the surface.

A Merry Christmas Match (2019)

Corey (Newbrough) works with her mother at the antique shop her late father opened. When her best friend leaves for big city life in Los Angeles, Corey stays behind to continue carrying on her father’s legacy, putting her dreams of becoming a theater director on the back burner.

When a Los Angeles real estate heir, Ryder (Kyle Dean Massey), comes to visit Corey’s antique shop, sparks fly between the two of them. Corey’s budding relationship with Ryder makes her question whether she should stay and honor her father’s memory or pursue her own ambitions.

Newbrough talked to Trunk Space about working with Kyle Dean Massey on the film: “The first time I met him was right before we shot the last scene of the movie. I got so lucky with Kyle Dean – he’s an absolute dream to work with,” she shared.

Christmas for Keeps (2021)

A group of five friends from high school reconnect during the holiday season with the passing of their beloved drama teacher. Joining forces, they commemorate his life and the holiday traditions he enjoyed. Their reunion allows new connections to form as they look back on the memories and lessons he left behind.

“This is the first time I’ve done an ensemble,” she told Niagara Frontier Publications. “I think this might be the first time Hallmark’s done an ensemble cast for their Christmas movies, which really drew me to the script. That was the first thing that I loved about it, was that it was about a group of friends reuniting, and each of them had something to conquer. I love that. I love stories like that, because I think everyone will be able to relate to one character or another. I love that about the script.”

Flipping for Christmas (2023)

Abigail (Newbrough) has just achieved a major career milestone when her sister enlists her help for a simple flip of a newly inherited home. What she doesn’t realize is the home has a co-beneficiary, Bo (Marcus Rosner), who she finds herself butting heads with.

Abigail wishes to sell the home for her sister, while Bo wishes to turn it into a bed and breakfast. As the two spend more time with one another, they begin to warm up.

Love in Glacier National Park: A National Park Romance (2023)

Heather (Newbrough) is a climatologist and avalanche expert who has just developed a forecasting system to keep lives safe on the mountain. Invited to install her system in Glacier National Park and teach their Mountain Rescue Team about its abilities, she’s met with skepticism by Chris (Stephen Huszar), the director of the team who feels his real-life experience trumps Heather’s scientific research. Will things warm up between the two?

“We were incredibly fortunate to have such a strong team of people on this movie,” Newbrough told Niagara Frontier Publications. “Everyone had such a positive attitude and enthusiasm to make this movie, and we all got along so well right from day one. That also made it just so much more enjoyable and fun. We all felt like we were at this like winter wonderland camp in Fernie [British Columbia, Canada] together.”

Love on the Right Course (2024)

Whitney (Newbrough) is a pro-golfer who is questioning her abilities when she struggles to make the cut for her next European tournament. Returning to her family’s golf course in Budapest, she finds a new golf pro, Daniel (Marcus Rosner), running the operations of the club. The two personalities don’t initially mesh, but as they spend more time with each other, sparks just might start flying.
