From their catchy songs to their action-packed adventures, they are simply unmatched and have been since Walt Disney created his first feature length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, back in 1937. And now we have ranked the 14 best Disney movies — from robots to football, pirates and even princesses, this list has something for everyone!

14. Hercules (1997): Best Disney movies

Inspired by the Greek Myth, this film follows Hercules’ (Tate Donovan) journey as he tries to become a hero so that he can be reunited with his godly parents, despite the attempts of Hades (James Woods) — ruler of the underworld and Hercules’ uncle — to stop him. This film also stars the voice talents of Danny DeVito, Roger Bart and Susan Egan.

13. Up (2009)

This tear-jerker takes viewers to South America and a house filled with balloons that takes to the sky. Seventy-eight-year-old Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) is about to set off on his lifelong dream, when a little boy named Russell (Jordan Nagai) shows up and ruins everything. Filled with found family, talking dogs and second chances at life, Up has it all.

12. National Treasure (2004): Best Disney movies

Epic, thrilling, fun and — above all — thoroughly entertaining. Historian and code-breaker Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) teams up with Justin Bartha (Riley Poole) on an epic treasure hunt that leads them to steal the Declaration of Independence, causing havoc across the entire country. The reason? The search for a rumored historic treasure dating back to the founding days of the United States of America. Diane Kruger, Sean Bean and Jon Voight also appear.

11. Wall-E (2008) 

In a movie that shows friends come in all shapes and sizes, WALL-E (or Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class) is the last robot on a trash-covered earth. But then a robot named EVE shows up and the two set off to space, soon realizing that the Earth might not be as uninhabitable as everyone once thought. Benn Burtt stars as WALL-E and Elissa Knight takes on the role of EVA.

10. The Lion King (1994): Best Disney movies

In this epic family saga, viewers are taken to Northern Africa. All Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Matthew Broderick) has been trained to do is take over Pride Rock from his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). But when Simba’s Uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons) stages a coup, Mufasa dies, and Simba is left with no choice but to run away until the day he decides to return and reclaim his proper place among his “people.” With catchy songs like “Hakuna Matata” and “Circle of Life,” The Lion King — which inspired a live action film version as well as a long-running Broadway musical — has certainly left its mark in Disney history.

9. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

With a star-studded cast including Johnny Deep, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, this movie was destined for success. When Capain Jack Sparrow (Depp) lands in the Caribbean with nothing, all hope seems lost. But when Elizabeth (Knightley), the governor’s daughter, gets kidnapped, Sparrow teams up with Will Turner (Bloom) to save her. Filled with adventure, magic and hilarious one-liners, this is a film the whole family will love — and it spawned no less than four sequels.

8. Inside Out (2015): Best Disney movies

This mind-boggling tale follows a 12-year-old girl named Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) and all the different emotions in her head: Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Fear (Bill Hader). But when Joy and Sadness disappear, Riley tackles what life is like without them, giving audiences a complex story of emotions and what it really means to feel and remember things.

7. The Princess and the Frog (2009) 

In Disney’s last 2-D animated film, viewers follow Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) on her journey as a frog, alongside Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), as they try to break the curse set by Dr.Facilier (Keith David). Oprah, Micheal-Leon Wooley and Jennifer Cody also voice characters in this film.

Family secrets, Día de Muertos, music and more. All Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) wants to do is become a musician, but his family disapproves. In response, he runs away and ultimately finds himself in the spirit world with his ancestors. There he learns a shocking secret that will change the world — and his family’s lives — forever.

5. The Parent Trap (1998) 

Based on the 1961 hit film of the same name, long-lost twins Hallie and Annie (Lindsay Lohan) somehow end up at the same summer camp as one another, and soon devise a plan to get their divorced parents (Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid) back together. Lisa Ann Walter, Elaine Hendrix, Simon Kunz and Ronnie Stevens also appear.

4. Tangled (2010): Best Disney movies

From Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi comes a hit movie about a long-lost princess. Rapunzel (Moore) was kidnapped as a baby by Mother Gothrl (Donna Murphy), and it was all because of her magical hair. For 18 years Rapunzel has never left her tower, but then a thief named Flynn Rider (Levi) shows up and helps her escape to fulfill her dream of seeing the world. A story of hope, love and friendship.

3. Fox and the Hound (1981) 

An unlikely friendship unfolds in this film when Tod the Fox (Mickey Rooney) is taken in by Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan). Soon Tod befriends the neighbor’s dog Cooper (Kurt Russell), but their owners disagree and do everything in their power to keep them apart. A tragic classic, this film will leave viewers in tears.

2. Remember The Titans (2000): Best Disney movies

Denzel Washington stars alongside Ryan Gosling, Wood Harris, Ryan Hurst, and more in this sports epic set in 1971 Virginia. After the merging of two schools, high schoolers and coaches are put to the test to see if they can maintain their status as one of the high school football team greats. This one is based on a true story.
