Catherine Bell has been lighting up our TV screens since her days starring on JAG and Army Wives, and she continues to shine now on Hallmark Channel’s Good Witch. We were lucky enough to chat with the 52-year-old actress about her beauty regimen, including her favorite drugstore mascara — and the advice she’s been following from her mom and grandma for years.
“I will always go back to the Maybelline mascara,” Bell tells us, referring to the classic pink and green tube of Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (Buy at Walmart, $4.77). She’s also a fan of the brand’s Expert Eyes Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (Buy at Walmart, $4.64). “It’s the best,” she says. “It’s the most effective and doesn’t sting your eyes at all. It’s not oily — just perfect.”
Bell added, “When it’s movie makeup it’s harder to get off, I might use a Clarins cleanser which is low in toxins and chemicals.” She didn’t specify which of their products she reaches for, but we’re fans of their Clarins Water Comfort One Step Peach Facial Cleanser (Buy at Walmart, $22.99).
The actress says a clean face has been a lifelong part of her beauty routine. “My mother and grandmother always told me to wash off my makeup at night before going to bed,” she tells us. “I’ve always done that. Really do a good cleanse and get it off your pores and eyelashes, gently removing mascara.”
Like the rest of us, Bell has also had to adjust to issues that come with wearing face coverings more often these days. “My lips are so dry from wearing a mask,” she says. Her solution: Dr. PawPaw’s Soothing Balm (Buy at Ulta, $8).
It’s all just further proof that you don’t need to spend a million bucks on beauty products to look like a gorgeous Hollywood star!
