Ellen DeGeneres Shares Touching Message After Las Vegas Shooting

In the midst of recent tragedies that have rocked our nation, Ellen DeGeneres has a touching message to share with us all. Because the TV host is famous for sharing inspirational stories with her audience, it’s no surprise that she drew on the material she knows best to uplift us.

In the segment that aired shortly after the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting, Degeneres addressed the painful aftermath of the violence as well as destruction caused by recent natural disasters. But rather than focusing so much on the terror and heartbreak, she zoomed in on the signs of hope for humanity that happened after the shooting — like the many folks that stood in line for hours to donate blood to the victims.

“I am hoping we can fill this room with love and prayers and hope,” DeGeneres said. “It’s very easy to lose hope, but we cannot do that. I always say there’s a lot more good in the world that there is bad, and I continue to believe that.”

She then put her beliefs on display by showcasing a beautiful montage of inspirational people that have been featured on the show. Some of them have performed simple acts of kindness, while others have begun charitable organizations.

Then, DeGeneres had a confession to make to her audience.

“It is hard to do a show on a day like this. When I wake up today, I think, How am I doing to do a show?” she said. “But it’s also days like this when I appreciate my job more than ever, because I get to focus and shine a light on people who do good in the world.”
