Are you someone who looks forward to the Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” each year? Their string of holiday-themed movies always know how to make us laugh, cry, and wish we could ask Santa for our own hunky leading man to sweep us away into a snowy romance. Although we can’t make life magically mimic the plot of one of those films, there is another exciting perk you might be able to unlock as you tune into the cheery flicks this year.
CenturyLink, an internet service provider, is offering to pay fans of Hallmark holiday movies a whopping $1,000 just to sit down and watch 24 films within the 12 days leading up to Christmas. That’s just two movies a day — easy peasy!
First, you’ll need to fill out an application on their website and wait to see if you’re selected as one of the lucky viewers. They’re looking for someone who is a serious fan of all things Christmas and doesn’t shy away from sharing their opinions about each Hallmark movie. “Think the grumpy Grandpa turned jolly Santa was a little overdone? Felt like the plot was a bit half-baked? Be as honest as possible in your review,” the website explains. You can also include a two to three minute video of yourself with the application to prove just how perfect you are for the job.
If you get picked, all you have to do is document your viewings on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook using the hashtags #CountdowntoChristmas and #HallmarkDreamJob. They’ll even help set you up with streaming options so you can watch each flick at your leisure, plus send other goodies like hot cocoa, Christmas cookies, a mini Christmas tree, and more. Then you just have to pick 24 movies and watch them all before December 25. Not a bad way to earn some extra holiday money, right?
Check out the official website for the application and more information on how you can cash in on this fun and festive opportunity.
Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying all of the movies on Hallmark channel this year without any paychecks involved — but it would certainly make them that much sweeter!
