Kate Middleton Bonds With Tiny Schoolgirl in First Official Outing After Maternity Leave
Like many other moms who’ve just given birth, Kate Middleton took a break from her work duties in the months following Prince Louis’ arrival in April. While her husband, Prince William, has been off touring Africa to promote wildlife conservation, she and the youngest royals have stayed close to home.
Kate has now returned from maternity leave with her first official solo appearance on October 3, 2018 — and it was the perfect opportunity to show off her sweet maternal nature. The Duchess paid a visit to Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden in England. She spent the morning making crowns from leaves and enjoying nature with the young students. One little girl stood out from the rest, however, thanks to an understandable curiosity about the cameras surrounding them.
After helping a young boy fill a pitcher of water, Kate walked hand-in-hand with the girl to find another activity to do together. As they wandered along, the girl took the opportunity to ask, “Why are they picturing you?” How precious is that? It reminds us of how casually sassy Princess Charlotte can be when it comes to addressing the press that follows her family around at events. Of course, Kate had the perfect answer. Without missing a beat, she told the young girl: “They’re picturing you! Because you’re special!”
We can only imagine Kate is just as patient and caring with her own three kiddos at home, too. Royal fans also noticed that the Duchess was sporting a fresh new haircut while visiting the students. She likely was treated to a little post-baby pampering before officially resuming her royal duties. Take a look at the video below to see Kate bonding with all of the little ones she met at Sayers Croft Forest School. (The special moment with the young girl happens just before the one minute mark.) We can’t wait to see more of Kate joining in with the rest of the royals in upcoming events!
