Vanna White Opens Up About How Love Has Saved Her in Hard Times

In the new issue of Woman’s World (on stands October 29), Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White opens up about the heartaches she has endured throughout her life and how she has learned that love is the answer to all of the heart’s toughest puzzles. Vanna also shares her tips for finding peace and joy — no matter which way the wheel spins.
Not only did she lose her mother when she was just 23, Vanna also lost her boyfriend in a plane crash just a few years later, and in 1992 she suffered a devasting miscarriage and then endured a difficult divorce. Through it all, the support of her loved ones and fans have carried her through.
“Whenever I’m going through something stressful, I try to go into a quiet place in nature and just be,” Vanna shares. “When your brain is going 1,000 miles per hour and you need to calm down, nature’s the best thing.”
She also has learned to lean on loved ones “in good times and bad.” “I talk to my 93-year-old dad every day. And though my mom isn’t physically here with me, I know she’s with me in everything I do.”
Vanna also finds tremendous joy in giving. “Helping others brings me so much joy! I love to work with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All the money they get goes to helping children, and I so wanted to be a part of that. So, I made my own yarn called ‘Vanna’s Choice’ and donate all the proceeds to St. Jude. But giving back doesn’t have to be that extravagant — even in small ways, making others happy just makes me happy.”

In addition, Vanna discusses why she always finds a way to fit “girl time” into her schedule — and the importance of finding a hobby that makes you feel good.
