Girl Scouts Just Added a New Cookie and We Can’t Wait to Get Our Hands On It
Get ready for a new favorite Girl Scout cookie coming your way: Toast-Yay! The French toast-inspired treat is set to make its debut in the upcoming 2021 cookie selling season — and we won’t judge if you have the breakfast-flavored sweet as a morning snack.
The Girl Scouts website describes their newest addition as a “delightful, toast-shaped cookie” that’s “full of French toast flavor and flair.” And, of course, it’s “stamped with the trusted Girl Scouts’ signature trefoil on top.” Is your mouth watering yet?
Traditional cookie selling might look a little different with the ongoing pandemic, but it shouldn’t stop you from getting your annual fix. A press release explains, “Though social distancing measures may keep families and friends apart, cookie customers will be able to share joy and stay connected this season through a gift box option that ships directly to others via the Digital Cookie/Smart Cookie online platforms.” They also have the Girl Scouts Cookie Care program that lets cookie fans “safely order cookies for home delivery or to donate cookies to first responders, volunteers, and local causes.”
Most of us will have to wait for cookie season to start in January to get our hands on the new toasty treats, but you can check the Girl Scouts website to find local sellers to get prepped for any social distance purchasing needs along with the digital options. And yes, you’ll also be able to snag old favorites like Thin Mints and Tagalongs.
As much as we all love the flavor of the cookies on their own, the company reminds us in their press release that it’s not just our sweet tooth that benefits from each sale: “The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls how to think like entrepreneurs as they run their own small businesses and learn skills like goal setting, people skills, and decision making — which are imperative for any leadership role.” Knowing we’re helping younger generations of girls grow stronger only makes each yummy bite taste sweeter!
