This 3-Ingredient, No-Bake Twix Recipe Will Make You Say Goodbye to Store-Bought Candy

Warning sweets fans: You are definitely going to start drooling when you see how easy it is to make your own version of delicious Twix candy.

The recipe was shared on social media by a mom and self-taught baker from Australia named Walla Abu-Eid. The best part (aside from when you actually get to eat it) is that there’s no actual baking involved. In fact, the closest you’ll get to using an oven is popping some chocolate into your microwave to melt it.

Take a look at Abu-Eid’s video for a mouth-watering clip:

As you may have noticed, Abu-Eid swaps the caramel usually found in Twix with Lotus Cookie Butter ($7.56, Walmart). Some might argue this makes her recipe even more scrumptious, but just like the variety of flavors of store-bought Twix, you can mix things up with whatever you like. We can see things like peanut butter or marshmallow fluff working very well, too.

Abu-Eid uses a piping bag to layer the cookie butter spread onto pre-made Walker’s shortbread cookies ($3.94, Walmart), which are conveniently already in the shape of a rectangular candy bar. After that, zap your chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals until it’s melted enough to dip and coat the cookies. Again, although she uses a few squares of Cadbury Dairy Milk ($1.48, Walmart), you can go with whatever your favorite type of chocolate might be, as long as it’s able to melt and firm back up.

After that, the hardest part will be summoning the patience to wait while the whole thing hardens. (Putting in the fridge will help speed that along.) Abu-Eid doesn’t say exactly how long it takes for them to set, but keep an eye on them and check for the glossy chocolate to look more matte before taking a bite. That is, unless you don’t mind messy chocolate all over your hands and face. We’re sure these homemade delights will taste far better than any candy lining the shelves of grocery stores.
