10 Halloween Cocktails to Enjoy This Year

Halloween might not quite be the same this year as many of us are doing our best to continue staying safe with social distancing. However, that doesn’t mean that all the fun has to be cancelled. Below, we share a few festive halloween cocktails you can whip up right at home to celebrate the holiday the right way!

Jolly Jack-O’-Lanterns Halloween Cocktails

White chocolate and orange come together in one irresistible treat.

Servings: 2; Active Time: 20 min.; Total Time: 20 min.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 6 Tbs. clear chocolate vodka
  • 1⁄4 cup triple sec
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 6 drops yellow and 2 drops red liquid food colorings
  • Ice cubes
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Orange decorating sugar

Instructions

  1. In 1-qt. microwave-safe measuring cup, microwave chocolate chips in 15-sec. intervals, stirring, until melted.
  2. Stir in vodka and triple sec until smooth. Stir in orange juice and food colorings.
  3. Pour drink into ice-filled cocktail shaker.
  4. Cover; shake vigorously, 15 sec. Strain into 2 glasses. Top with whipped cream and decorating sugar.

Black-Eyed Margaritas

All eyes will be on you when you serve up this scary concoction studded with spooky black tapioca pearls.

Servings: 2; Active Time: 15 min.; Total Time: 1 hr. 15 min.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup orange juice
  • 1⁄2 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1⁄4 cup cooked black pearl tapioca
  • Ice cubes
  • 1⁄2 cup silver tequila
  • 1⁄4 cup Cointreau

Instructions

  1. In pot, combine orange juice, cinnamon and cloves; cook over medium heat until flavors blend, about 5 min. Cool, then strain into covered jar or container; chill. Divide tapioca between 2 chilled martini glasses.
  2. In ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine juice mixture, tequila and Cointreau. Cover; shake until chilled. Strain into glasses.

Devil’s Brew Halloween Cocktails

A drizzle of chocolate on the rim makes this cran-pear tipple sinfully delicious.

Servings: 4; Active Time: 20 min.; Total Time: 20 min

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbs. chocolate syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 cups chilled hard cider
  • 1 cup cran-apple juice
  • 2⁄3 cup pear brandy, such as Poire William

Instructions

  1. Mix corn syrup and chocolate syrup; pour 1 tsp. into bottom of each of 4 chilled martini glasses. Brush remaining mixture over rims of glasses, allowing some to drip down sides.
  2. In ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine 1 cup hard cider, 1⁄2cup cran-apple juice, and 1⁄3 cup brandy. Cover; shake until well chilled, about 30 sec. Strain into 2 glasses. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 2 more drinks.

Boozy Pumpkin Pie Lattes

Ingredients

  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1⁄4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice + additional
  • 1⁄4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1⁄4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Candy corn (optional)

Instructions

  1. In pot, bring 2 cups water to a boil over high heat; add tea bags. Remove from heat; steep 3–5 min. Remove tea bags; stir in sugar, pumpkin, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice, and vanilla.
  2. Whisk milk until thick and foamy; spoon into 2 mugs. Over back of spoon, slowly pour tea mixture into mugs. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with candy and spice.

Poison Potion Halloween Cocktails

Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • 1⁄3 cup bourbon
  • 1⁄4 cup apple brandy
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • Green liquid food coloring
  • Orange liquid food coloring
  • 2 cups ginger ale

Instructions

  1. In ice-filled cock-tail shaker, combine bourbon, brandy and lemon juice. Cover; shake vigorously until well chilled, about 30 sec. Strain into 2 ice-filled glasses.
  2. Tint 1 glass green and 1 glass orange with food colorings. Top each with ginger ale. Garnish as desired.

Fiery Moscow Mule

Mint and zesty ginger beer blend for a brew guaranteed to spark oohs and aahs.

Ingredients

  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • ¼ cup simple syrup
  • 2 Tbs. lime juice
  • ½ cup rum
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 cups ginger beer

Instructions

  1. In cocktail shaker, muddle mint, syrup and juice. Add rum and ice cubes; cover. Shake until chilled.
  2. Strain drink into 2 copper mugs or glasses; top with ginger beer.

Purple Ghoul-Ade

Lemon liqueur adds a sweet, citrusy balance to tart cranberry juice.

Servings: 4 Active time: 20 min.; Total time: 20 min.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. white decorating sugar
  • 1 tsp. purple decorating sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 ½ cups white cranberry juice
  • 2⁄3 cup gin
  • ½ cup limoncello
  • 4 Tbs. lime juice
  • 4 drops neon purple food coloring

Instructions

  1. Mix sugars on small plate. Dip rims of 4 glasses in water, then sugar and invert.
  2. In ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine 3⁄4 cup cranberry juice, 1⁄3 cup gin, 1⁄4 cup limoncello, 2 Tbs. lime juice and 2 drops food coloring. Cover; shake until well chilled, about 30 sec. Strain into 2 glasses. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 2 more drinks.

Spooky Spiced Shakes

Cinnamon whiskey gives these creamy just-for-adults treats zesty appeal.

Servings: 4; Active Time: 20 min.; Total Time: 20 min.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups coffee ice cream
  • 1 1⁄2 cups spiced rum
  • 1⁄2 cup Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey
  • 1⁄2 cup Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Halloween sprinkles and cinnamon sticks(optional)

Instructions

  1. In blender, combine 3 cups ice cream, 3⁄4 cup rum, 1⁄4 cup whiskey and 1⁄4 cup Baileys; cover. On high speed, blend until thick and smooth.
  2. Add 2 cups ice cubes; blend until frothy. Divide evenly between 2 tall glasses. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles; add cinnamon sticks. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 2 more drinks.

All Hallows’ Eve Sunset

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ruby red grapefruit juice, chilled
  • 4 tsp. grenadine syrup
  • 8 drops red liquid food coloring
  • 1 1⁄3 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup citrus vodka
  • 1⁄2 cup Champagne
  • 4 drops neon purple liquid food coloring

Instructions

  1. Combine grapefruit juice, grenadine and red food coloring. Divide evenly among 4 champagne flutes.
  2. Combine orange juice and vodka; slowly pour 1⁄4 of mixture on top of juice in each glass. Over back of spoon, slowly pour Champagne over juice.
  3. Add 1 drop of purple food coloring to each glass; gently stir into Champagne to tint.

Bubbling Cauldron Martinis

Made with apple vodka and melon liqueur, our mean green mixer is bound to bring on screams of delight.

Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • 1⁄3 cup green apple vodka
  • 2 Tbs. Midori 2 envs. instant whiskey sour mix, from 4.7 oz. pkg.
  • Seltzer, chilled
  • Gummi worms (optional)

Instructions

  1. In ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine vodka, Midori and whiskey sour mix. Cover and shake until mixture is well chilled.
  2. Strain into 2 chilled martini glasses and top with chilled seltzer. If desired, garnish with gummi worms.
