Little Kid Mistakes White-Bearded Man for Santa, Sweetest Conversation Ever Ensues
We’re heading into the most wonderful time of the year, and here’s a story that proves that the “wonder” and goodness is all around us–even in line at the coffee shop.
It all started when a young boy in Ontario, Canada got the celebrity sighting of a lifetime while in line at a Tim Hortons coffee shop: It was Santa Claus!
Well, it was an older gentleman with white hair and a long white beard, and when he realized who the boy thought he was, he went into instant jolly-Santa mode, chatting with the youngster about whether or not he was good this year and whether he had written his Christmas list. A man sitting nearby, Mark Hurson, eavesdropped on the conversation, and later posted it to Facebook–in a message that has since gone viral around the world.
“He said, ‘You better be nice to your mom and sister, because I’m watching,’” wrote Hurson. “Then he said goodbye and that he was going back to the North Pole to finish the toys with the elves.”
The story has caught the attention of people all over the globe who want to believe in Santa’s hopeful, generous spirit during the holidays–and locally, many more strangers (like the little girl pictured above) have been stopping by the coffee shop to visit with this kindhearted man.
