Pretty Patterns and Floating Storage
All it takes is a blank wall, a table, and a chair to set up a creative corner anywhere in your home!
“I love the idea of carving out a space where you can recharge while getting things done — and if you already have the main furniture, you just need small upgrades that make a big impact,” says Lanna.
To get this look, press stick-on wallpaper onto the blank wall behind your desk for a cheery focal point. Then hang an inspiration board covered in patterned fabric above the desk and a few floating shelves. “Storage is key because you want to avoid visual desk clutter,” she adds.
Easy, affordable ideas: a tall, compact filing cabinet to conceal paper piles, floating shelves, mail bins, and magazine racks.
Sunny Hues and Functional Flare
“Showcasing a vibrant, sunny color in your office is an easy way to bring warmth and energy into the space,” says Lanna. “Yellow is a vibrant, feel-good color — it will motivate and boost your mood.” Here, an accent wall is painted a light yellow, then a trio of pretty memo boards is hung above the desk.
“Memo boards are great because they break up the saturated yellow and offer style and function to the room.” Lanna suggests hanging to-do’s and memos along with inspiring quotes and fun photos for a little “lift” during the day.
Also smart: Change desk lamp bulbs to a soft, warm yellow for enhanced ambience.
