11 Famous Taurus Celebrities That Live Up to Their Star Sign

They are practical, stubborn, and incredibly hard-working.

Taurus is a zodiac sign known for being practical, loyal, and persistent — their symbol is the stubborn Bull, after all! Some of the world’s most famous and successful people are Tauruses; and here, we’ll dive into the lives of 11 Taurus celebrities who have proven their shared star sign is much more than just a coincidence.

Queen Elizabeth II (April 21)

First, we have Queen Elizabeth II, the ultimate Taurus. It’s hard to know where to start when describing this long-time monarch’s life, although Netflix’s The Crown has done a pretty good job of summing it up for a new generation. The Queen died in September 2022 after nearly 71 years as monarch — the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history and the longest of any British monarch. Grandmother to Prince Harry and Prince William, mother to King Charles, and wife to Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II reigned through the Troubles in Northern Ireland, Brexit, the decolonization of Africa, the Falklands War, and many other events my grandchildren read about in their history books.

Her calm and steadfast demeanor showed the world that Taurus individuals are born leaders who can handle major challenges with grace and humility. No one exemplifies this more than Queen Elizabeth II, who was coronated in 1953 at only 27 years old. She became the heir presumptive at only ten years old after her uncle’s scandalous abdication. Edward VIII stepped down from the throne to marry an American divorcee, leaving Elizabeth’s father, George VI, to take over his role as King. From an early age, Queen Elizabeth II’s unwavering dedication to her duties exemplified the steady and persevering qualities that Taurus individuals possess. She was truly an inspiration and a testament to the strength of the Taurus star sign — and her love of corgis showed that the signature Taurus devotion to comfort and luxury was also alive and well in this historical figure.

Barbara Streisand (April 24)

Tauruses can persevere despite any obstacle, and no celebrity shows this more clearly than Barbara Streisand. Despite her nervousness at performing live, Streisand is one of the few EGOT winners in history — meaning she’s won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award — best-known for her jaw-dropping performances in Broadway shows like Funny Girl and movies like Hello, Dolly!, The Way We Were, and A Star Is Born. Babs has also released hit albums, including The Broadway Album. Tauruses won’t jump into just any old relationship; their partners need to be someone spectacular. This may explain Streisand’s two highest-profile pairings: Formerly married to Elliott Gould, she’s found her one-and-only in her marriage to James Brolin. Naturally, her Taurean love of money, luxury, and comfort probably has a little something to do with the shopping mall she famously constructed in her basement, complete with a sweet shop that serves frozen yogurt.

Kelly Clarkson (April 24)

The American Idol winner and Grammy-winning singer is another famous Taurus. Outside of being the first-ever winner of American Idol, Clarkson is also known for her difficult split with husband Brandon Blackstock, country icon Reba McEntire’s stepson. Despite facing many challenges, her determination and passion for singing has taken her to the top of the music industry. Clarkson’s perseverance speaks volumes about her star sign: she never gives up on her goals, no matter how hard they are to reach. Her upbeat attitude and positive outlook prove that Taurus can reach for the stars and achieve their dreams — and it also likely comes in handy while she hosts her beloved talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. I love her because of her confidence and down-to-earth humor, but hits like “Since U Been Gone,” “Breakaway,” and “A Moment Like This” drew me in even before I got to her her delightful personality.

Reneé Zellweger (April 25)

Reneé Zellweger may have been the girl who completed Tom Cruise in the movie Jerry McGuire, but her illustrious career also includes star-making roles in films like Judy, Chicago, and Bridget Jones’ Diary. Zellweger has dated some of my favorite actors and singers, including Jim Carrey, Bradley Cooper, and Kenny Chesney (whom she even briefly married before having the nuptials annulled). While some might know her best for her two Oscar wins, I mostly think of her as a Texas native with a sweet Southern accent and a Taurean ability to roll up her sleeves and get to work.

Jessica Alba (April 28)

Jessica Alba was once known as a gorgeous actress from Fantastic Four and the TV show Dark Angel, but her Taurean love of stability has led her away from acting and the limelight in recent years. Instead, this mother of three is now focused on her role as co-founder of The Honest Company, a business that creates safe baby and beauty products. Of course, it’s in her Taurus nature to embrace the natural and soothing, since Tauruses love to relax in bucolic environments. Alba is also known for her charitable contributions to ONE Campaign, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Habitat for Humanity, showing that a Taurus is always thinking of their return on investment, even when that return is more about the good of humankind than the good of their paychecks.

David Beckham (May 2)

The world-famous soccer player is another Taurus who embodies the spirit of the star sign. He’s a master at his craft and has achieved success both as a team player and an individual, all thanks to his commitment, dedication, and hard work. Despite his talent, David has never taken shortcuts or been complacent — he has always pushed himself to the limit to be the best Taurus he can be. That’s why he’s one of the most admired English soccer players in history! Outside of work, Beckham is well-known for his marriage to Victoria Beckham (my favorite Spice Girl), his sense of humor, and his famous friendships with Snoop Dogg, Prince William, and Marc Anthony. Oh, and for gracing the cover of mags like GQ and People and making American women swoon. His loyalty and sensuality are two more effortlessly Taurean traits.

Adele (May 5)

Five-time Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Adele is a true Taurus in every sense of the word. Her unwavering strength, determination, and consistency in both her personal and professional life are classic hallmarks of a Taurus personality — and they shine through in some of this Brit’s biggest hits, including “Skyfall,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Hello,” and beyond. Additionally, this powerhouse vocalist’s grounded nature and practicality is inherent to many Taurus individuals, and it likely helped her along her weight loss journey. She protects her private life while also maintaining an incredible level of professionalism and talent that makes her the queen of the music industry. If you haven’t experienced Adele’s beloved Vegas residency or seen her live on tour, at least you can enjoy her knock-out performance on James Corden’s carpool karaoke segment.

George Clooney (May 6)

The two-time Oscar winner, director, and human rights activist is a classic example of the Taurus spirit. You may remember him from the Ocean’s franchise, the films Gravity and The Descendants, or his early role on the television show ER. He’s known for his determination and commitment to any project he takes on, as well as his loyalty to those around him, such as his longtime wife Amal Clooney. His ambition knows no bounds, yet he remains humble and grounded — Taurus qualities that make him one of the most well-liked stars in Hollywood. Of course, this may be a case of nature vs. nurture. Clooney grew up in a classic American family in the heart of Kentucky. Today, Clooney is the co-founder of Casamigos tequila and a UN Messenger of Peace — but at his core, he’s simply a man who loves his home, his wife, and his parents, who still live in their family home in Kentucky.

Janet Jackson (May 16)

The award-winning singer, songwriter, and dancer Janet Jackson is another Taurus who has made waves in the music industry. “Nasty” and “Rhythm Nation” are two of my favorite songs, although her tune “Control” may show more of her Taurus spirit as a stubborn and focused leader. The youngest member of the Jackson family, this pop icon’s career started in the early ‘80s and continues to this day — thanks to her classic Taurus hard work and dedication. She’s also known for her loyalty and commitment to her craft, which makes her a true role model for aspiring artists everywhere. (She even persevered through a scandalous Superbowl wardrobe malfunction.) And that’s not all! While Jackson may be best-known as a five-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, her acting has also made an undeniable mark on American culture. Jackson’s role on the TV show Good Times was groundbreaking for its representation of a Black nuclear family in 1970s Chicago. Her ability to stay true to herself in the face of adversity speaks volumes to her Taurus tenacity, although her well-documented shyness probably comes from her Cancer Jupiter and Saturn Pisces.

Stevie Wonder (May 13)

I can’t picture music today without pioneer Stevie Wonder’s many contributions. The 25-time Grammy winner has one of the most unique voices around, lending hits like “Superstition” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You” a little extra magic. Wonder’s Taurus work ethic led him to scoring a record deal with Motown Records at the tender age of 11, excelling despite his blindness. Like Ray Charles before him, Wonder showed the world that a person with a physical challenge can be a star with ambition, hard work, and dedication — Taurus traits, indeed.

Cher (May 20)

The iconic pop star and entertainer Cher is one of the most well-known Tauruses in history. She’s been an unstoppable force — her career began in the 1960s and is still going strong today. While she began as one-half of Sonny and Cher — with iconic songs like “I Got You Babe” and their hilarious The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour — she quickly became a musical legend in her own right. Hits like “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time” turned her into one of the world’s best-selling music artists, and her bold pioneering style (as designed by Bob Mackie) has made her an icon in the LGBTQ+ community. Her strength, work ethic, dedication to her craft, and ambition are all classic Taurus characteristics. As if musical superstardom wasn’t enough, Cher is also an Oscar-winning actress known for films like Moonstruck, The Witches of Eastwick, and Burlesque. Her life was recently turned into a Broadway musical, The Cher Show, although her single greatest contribution to culture may be her iconic quote, “Mom, I am a rich man.” Like all Tauruses, Cher knows the value of a dollar and can take control of her own destiny. From her creative style to her timeless music, it’s easy to see why she’s still so popular today.

Honorable Mentions

While these 11 Tauruses are some of my favorite actors, singers, and entertainers, there are quite a few famous Taurus celebrities you (or your granddaughter) might know and love, including:

  • Gigi Hadid
  • Robert Pattinson
  • Channing Tatum
  • Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. “The Rock”)
  • Rosario Dawson
  • Travis Scott
  • Megan Fox
  • Sam Smith
  • Lizzo
  • Penelope Cruz
  • Enrique Iglesias

It’s no surprise that such a hard-working sign has found success everywhere, from the big screen to social media. Especially alongside fellow earth signs Capricorn and Virgo, the sign of the Bull is truly one to be reckoned with.

A Final Word

These famous Taurus celebs truly live up to the traits associated with their star sign, and a new generation of up-and-coming stars like Rami Malek, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Wrestler John Cena, Stranger Things actor Joe Keery, and more are continuing the Taurus legacy for the next generation. Their practicality, dependability, and determination have been shown in their personal and professional lives. Whether in music, entertainment, sports, politics, or monarchy, Taurus is a sign you can always count on. So, the next time you meet someone born in Taurus season, give them a pat on the back — they deserve it!
