Insiders pulled back the curtain a bit and spoke to People Magazine about the priorities the future queen keeps while raising her children — Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. A friend of Kate’s said the royal mom “runs things at home with the kids and the schedules. She is hugely involved in every single part of their day.”
2. Kate keeps things active.
Despite all of her responsibilities, Kate makes sure to be an active parent. The royal mom and her king-to-be husband showed off this side of their parenting recently as they tell anecdotes from family life. From fighting over songs in the morning to keeping Christmas traditions, Kate makes sure the kids enjoy their childhood. “Kate likes to keep an ordinary life,” a source told People.
Part of that means making sure all the kids grow up as rounded individuals while living in posh palaces. And the only way to do that is making sure they get plenty of time outside. Kate encourages the kids to spend time in the garden and get a little muddy. The mom once said her favorite family time is when they’re “outside in the countryside and we’re all filthy dirty.”
3. Kate prioritizes family time.
Speaking of family time, Kate and William make sure to prioritize their little unit despite their busy schedules. The family often takes vacation and utilizes every bit of time off they get from royal duties. It even makes for great family photos, as evidenced by the Cambridges’ 2021 Christmas card! The family of five wished everyone a happy holiday season with a shot from their vacation to Jordan earlier this year.
