15 Gorgeous Pieces of Furniture You Won’t Believe We Found at Walmart
There was a time when shopping for Walmart furniture meant buying a $10 beach chair, or maybe a cheap bean bag for the kids’ bedroom. In the last two years, however, the retailer has all but transformed itself from a discount superstore into a chic-yet-affordable home destination that’s right up there with Ikea, Target, and the like.
The transformation began in February 2018 with a redesign of the company’s online home section that allowed customers to peruse its wares by top decorating styles, such as bohemian and mid-century modern, and introduced them to a slew of exclusive and private label brands not previously carried.
Cut to 2020, and the unsuspecting megastore has become a fully aspirational home haven, where customers can shop quality goods by room, style, or furniture category, with even celebrities such as Drew Barrymore backing the business (have you checked out the actress’ removable peel-and-stick wallpaper collection from her eponymous Flower Home line?).
How does Walmart deliver furniture?
While most smaller furniture will be delivered just like normal items, heavy or oversized goods may be delivered by a freight company for an added surcharge. The freight company will contact you ahead of arrival to schedule a date and time to drop your item off.
You’ll want to inquire if your particular purchase includes inside delivery, or if goods will be dropped off at your front door (or, If you live in an apartment or condo building, your main entrance). Should you need help getting your item inside, you can may be charged additional fees.
For extra assistance, you can also take advantage of Walmart’s partnership with service-based company Handy, which will come to your home to assemble your larger furniture items or aid with the installation of more complex items, such as TV mounts.
