When it comes to doing my own hair, there’s one thing I’ve never quite been able to master: the blowout. No matter how many tutorial videos I watch or how many times my hairdresser patiently shows me her tricks for perfecting a salon-quality look at at home, it’s never been attainable for me. That is, until the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush ($59.99, ULTA) came into my life.

I had seen a lot of chatter online about this hair dryer brush. Like most trending beauty items, I thought it was just another gimmicky product that would eventually become a passing phase. However, as the glowing personal reviews from friends and countless magazine articles raving about this dryer continued pouring in, I decided to give it a try.

I approached this hairdryer with extremely high expectations and a whole lot of skepticism. My hair is naturally pretty curly, and the idea that this two-in-one product could effectively tame my thick, frizzy ringlets seemed too good to be true. But lo and behold, I was proven wrong.

Built with a genuine ION generator, this machine is designed to dry hair fast; albeit with less heat damage than a regular blowout.

After using this Revolon wonder product, I not only had completely dry tresses in half the time that it normally takes me to blow out my hair with a normal dryer, I had the voluminous blowout of my dreams.

And best of all? It required no real “skillset!”

How to Use the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer

The simple answer to this question is however you choose to: There’s no real “technique” to it. By simply running this brush through my hair, I had the smooth and shiny home blowout I had always wanted to achieve.

With such a devoted fan base behind this dryer, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to that this best-selling device also currently boasts more than 26,000 reviews and an almost five-star rating on Amazon. One customer called it, “truly the greatest thing since sliced bread” while another proclaimed, “This is literally the only thing I use now!”

Yet another happy customer summed it up best saying, “I finally have the thick, straight, shiny hair that until now has only been achievable at the salon.”

As for me, I had no choice but to admit that the hype behind this product was very, very real.

So will I be throwing out my regular hairdryer? No. (I paid good money for that thing!) But, after trying Revlon’s One-Step Hair Dryer, I can safely say that it’s certainly not going to get as much as love as it used to.
