It seems that so many of the cleaning supplies we use are designed to barely work. In the worst cases, they have to be constantly replaced or refilled. As somewhat of a minimalist, I like using cleaning tools that are versatile and pack a punch. I don’t have the storage space to try every new home cleaning product! I need cleaning tools and supplies that can be stored easily and actually work

Thankfully, I’ve discovered more than a few of those products! Not only do these cleaning tools and supplies help with the most ordinary of tasks — they garner the some of the most extraordinary results. Here are a few innovative cleaning products that I’ve discovered and can’t live without.

Best Microfiber for Daily Messes: Microfiber Magic! Streak Free Cleaning Cloth

After years of using paper towels and all different types of sponges along with every possible type of surface cleaner, I still found myself looking for a streak-free shine. Then I found these cleaning cloths from Microfiber Magic!

These are truly miracle rags. They clean everything with just a touch of water. The best part is that they are machine washable. I use them on my coffee and dining table as well as windows, mirrors, bookshelves — pretty much every surface in my home. And since they just require water, I have saved on purchasing multiple types of surface cleaners. Currently I am on month three of the same cloth with no holes!

Pro Tip: They do not absorb like a paper towel and are best used as surface cleaners.

Best Cleaning Tool for People With Pets: Chom Chom Roller Pet Hair Remover

If you’ve ever struggled to gain control over the amount of hair just ONE animal can produce this is THE holy grail of cleaning tools. No more going through countless sticky paper lint rollers. I’ve tried every type of brush possible and even purchased two pet-specific vacuums (of which the Shark Upright Navigator is my go-to choice). Then came along the little roller that could.

When pushed in a back-and-forth motion on any fabric surface, this pet hair remover roller picks up fur (and lint, and fuzzies from blankets, etc.) and stores it into a back compartment that is easy to discard. The simple white design means it can be left hanging around without being distracting. It’s not one of those pet products that has a corny print! This, combined with almost daily brushing has made cohabiting with my favorite furry friend a little less… well, furry.

Best All-Purpose Surface Cleaner: Mrs. Meyer’s All-Purpose Cleaner Spray

We love a quick and easy way to wipe away mess. It’s even better when that cleaner is safe to use around pets and kids. That’s why I love Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day. I can use it on so many surfaces including my kitchen counters, floors, and bathroom surfaces without having to worry about harsh chemicals. It’s tough on messes but easy on the nostrils — the lemon verbena scent is my favorite

Best Tool for All-Over Cleaning: Casabella Click, Clean and Organize Collection

Cleaning floors has to be my least favorite task. That’s thanks to never finding a mop head that worked for me. Most single-use pads don’t clean as well as I’d like and other reusable options essentially lack the scrubbing power I was after. That is, until I encountered the Casabella Click, Clean, and Organize Collection. It comes with every kind of cleaning solution you could need around the home including heads for sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, and wiping. All you have to do is click the head you want to use into the handle and you’re ready to get to work.
What I love most about this collection is it comes with hooks to store it all! No more searching for your cleaning supplies. Thanks to the handy hooks that can be installed anywhere in your home, your cleaning tools will always be organized and accessible. These items are sold separately but retail for $10 each!

Best Vacuum Cleaner: Dyson V8 Plus Cordless

This vacuum may be more expensive than the other budget-friendly home cleaning supplies I’ve mentioned. But if one thing is true, paying for an excellent vacuum is worth every penny.

Now, the Dyson cordless stick vacuums get a lot of flak about battery life wearing out. But for someone like me living in a smaller home with wooden floors and some carpeted areas, this has been revolutionary for spot cleaning and addressing heavily trafficked areas in a jiffy. Plus, it is intelligent enough to automatically differentiate between surfaces. I love that I can just grab it with no plugging in, and the fact that it swaps into a handheld means I no longer have to manage two separate contraptions.
