If you qualify, the prescription will be sent to one of Get Thin’s U.S. pharmacies, and they will ship it to your doorstep. No virtual appointments or bloodwork is required.

Once you get started on one of Get Thin MD’s medications, customer care is always available. If you have questions regarding dosage, side effects, dietary guidelines or anything else, you can message your doctor at any time in the patient portal. A provider will be able to respond 24/7.

Although insurance can sometimes help drive down costs, it isn’t always useful. Many plans don’t cover GLP-1s for diabetes, and it often creates long approval times. That said, Get Thin does not take most insurance plans. However, it manages to keep costs relatively affordable, by maintaining a fully virtual business model. It’s also one of the company’s main goals to provide affordable medications.

Get Thin MD does take insurance, however, for CareCredit cards. So CareCredit holders, take note.

The cost breakdown is simple

Unlike many telehealth providers (Noom Med and Henry are just a few) Get Thin does not have a membership fee. Patients just have to pay for their medications out of pocket. A dose of Ozempic or Mounjaro costs $1,399 (with $100 off the first order); compounded semaglutide costs $349 (also with $100 off the first order) and a month’s worth of the oral semaglutide costs $299. Shipping is free, and patients can cancel their orders as long as the prescription hasn’t been sent to the pharmacy already.

Lack of testing obviously has advantages and disadvantages. Although your Get Thin provider looks over your medical history, they won’t see your stats, or you in-person, at all. So those who might not qualify for GLP-1s with other providers may be able to get them here. However, the safety of that is questionable. Regardless, it’s an easy option for a quick GLP-1 prescription.
