Protecting Homes, Honoring Values: Newtown Termite and Pest Control’s Three-Decade Mission

In the world of pest control, integrity isn’t always the first word that comes to mind. But for Glenn Borochaner, founder of Newtown Termite and Pest Control, it has been the cornerstone of his business for more than three decades. Known early in his career as “Captain Morals” for refusing to engage in nefarious sales tactics, Borochaner built his company in 1993 with his wife on a simple yet powerful belief: great service comes from the heart.

Before starting Newtown Termite and Pest Control, Borochaner worked for a local pest company where his commitment to honesty and quality was fortified. But when he was told he wasn’t “management material,” he decided to forge his own path. “We wanted to do it differently,” he recalls. “It wasn’t about how much money was in the envelope at the end of the day; it was about serving the community with the highest quality service possible.”

From those humble beginnings, Newtown Termite and Pest Control has grown into an award-winning leader in environmental services. The company was mentioned in the  Inc. 5000 list two years in a row, ranking as one of the fastest-growing environmental service companies in 2023 and 2024.

Their mission is clear and unwavering: “We are driven by service, to our customers, our community, and our craft. We build healthier homes and stronger neighborhoods by delivering the most attentive, knowledgeable pest control and home services possible,” Borochaner says. It’s a vision that informs every decision and interaction, from the way they handle a single call to how they train their technicians.

What sets Newtown apart isn’t just its comprehensive service list, though it’s impressive. Beyond standard pest control, the company provides high-level exclusion work, wildlife removal, attic restoration, thermal acoustical pest control (TAP) insulation, and even custom metal fabrication to block entry points for pests. Their methods are both thorough and environmentally conscious, from sealing ridge vents against flying squirrels to using recycled cellulose insulation that’s fire-resistant.

But it’s the aftercare and prevention that truly define their approach. “We’re not just here to remove an animal or insect,” Borochaner explains. “We’re here to make sure the problem doesn’t happen again. That means fixing the entry points, repairing damage, and educating our customers.” The company even goes so far as to restore attics after infestations, removing contaminated insulation, sanitizing the space, and installing long-term pest deterrents.

Newtown acknowledges that a healthy attic is key to a healthy home. “An attic plays a major role in regulating temperature, air quality, and moisture levels throughout the entire house,” Borochaner says. “That’s why we go beyond pest control.”

They monitor moisture levels and airflow to identify potential problems early. By installing measures to improve ventilation and reduce excess moisture, they help prevent mold growth, wood damage, and pest infestations that thrive in damp, stagnant environments, aiming to create a cleaner, healthier attic.

Training and expertise are also at the heart of Newtown’s philosophy. Borochaner and his team push every technician to go beyond the role of a “spray jockey” and instead strive toward entomologist-level knowledge. “We want experts in the field who truly understand what they’re dealing with,” says Zeus Martinez, the Chief Operating Officer of Newtown.

Technicians are encouraged to pursue multiple licenses, with financial incentives for each new qualification they earn. This investment in staff development extends beyond technical skills. Borochaner meets with employees to discuss their personal and professional goals, supporting them in mapping out one-, three-, and five-year plans.

That people-first mindset extends to customers as well. Borochaner’s commitment to honesty translates into his dedication to providing accurate assessments every time, even if it means turning down a more profitable job. “A lot of people can’t tell the difference between a flying ant and a termite swarmer,” Borochaner notes. “Some companies might take advantage of that and sell an expensive service. We don’t do that. We’d rather educate you, unless you’d rather not hear it, which I understand. I’ve seen grown men standing on coffee tables over a bug. There’s no judgment here!”

This blend of integrity, thoroughness, and innovation has earned Newtown Termite and Pest Control a loyal client base and a sterling reputation. Yet, Borochaner isn’t content to rest on past achievements. The company is actively expanding its service areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, while also focusing on growing its presence in central Florida.

For Borochaner and his team, the mission remains unchanged since day one: to provide the highest quality pest control services with honesty, heart, and a dedication to going above and beyond. It’s a standard that’s made Newtown Termite and Pest Control not just a service provider, but a trusted partner in protecting homes and businesses for over 32 years.

And in an industry where quick fixes are common, Borochaner’s philosophy stands out: “True service isn’t just about solving a problem, it’s about caring enough to make sure it never comes back.”
