Redefining your next decade with Heather McCarthy – owner of BodylabXHeather, personal trainer and nutrition coach.

With over 15 years in the fitness industry, my journey into wellness coaching is the result of both professional experience and personal growth. While I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, my real passion emerged when I began teaching group fitness classes, balancing the demands of motherhood with the world of wellness. Those classes helped me form a loyal following and eventually led to a five-year partnership as a Lululemon Running and Strength Ambassador, which was a powerful validation of my work. My approach is centered on understanding each client’s unique needs, knowing that one size fits all solutions doesn’t create lasting change.

The pandemic inspired me to shift my focus to personal training, working directly with clients who thrived with extra motivation and accountability. I began developing custom fitness programs, complementing them with nutrition plans designed to work in harmony with each client’s lifestyle. By addressing both fitness and nutrition, I’ve helped hundreds of clients reach goals they once thought were out of reach. Realizing the power of a tailored approach, I launched BodyLabxHeather in 2020—a fully online platform that brings my holistic, goal-oriented fitness and nutrition plans to clients no matter where they are in the world. Through BodyLabxHeather, I’m able to provide the structure and support my clients need, checking in regularly on their progress and helping them refine their goals along the way. It’s not just about results; it’s about a lifestyle change that empowers them for life.

This year has marked a major milestone for BodyLabxHeather with the addition of a physical space where clients can work with me face-to-face, benefiting from hands-on training and direct nutritional coaching. This space allows me to give clients an even deeper experience, creating a well-rounded program that can be adapted to different stages of life and changing wellness needs. For my clients, it’s an opportunity to experience the blend of support, guidance, and structure that I believe is essential for real, sustainable transformation.

As a mother to three teenage daughters, I am deeply aware of the influences that can steer young people away from healthy habits, and it’s something I’m passionate about countering both at home and in my work. Teaching my daughters the importance of balanced nutrition and strength training helps them see that health is more than a quick fix; it’s a lifelong commitment to self-care. The same principles guide my work with clients, especially women navigating life stages like perimenopause and menopause. My aim is to help women embrace strength training and understand the importance of adequate protein intake to support their energy, bone density, and overall well-being during these times.

In this noisy, fast-paced world, health can feel like an “all or nothing” concept, but I encourage a sustainable, balanced approach. With BodyLabxHeather, clients learn to embrace a wellness journey tailored to them. My mission is to redefine what the next decade looks like for each of my clients, giving them the tools and confidence to build a healthy, empowered future.
