What can you expect during Mercury’s trip through Sagittarius in 2024? 

Although Mercury visits Sagittarius annually, all of the other planets move at different rates through the zodiac, so the messenger planet’s meetups with other celestial bodies vary from year to year. A few key dates in 2024:  

Jupiter has been moving through Sagittarius’ opposite sign, mutable air sign Gemini, since May 25, spending about a year in the sign of the Twins, and on Monday, November 18, it’ll oppose Mercury in Sagittarius, which can make for a wave of optimism and clear runway for big picture ideas. The only risk here is that you could also overpromise what you can deliver, which is a case for doing your best to stay grounded.

And a week later, on Monday, November 25, the messenger planet kicks off its third and final full retrograde, in the sign of the Archer, which lasts until Sunday, December 15. So expect to retrace the footsteps you took since early November, and look even further back to rest, reflect and revise anything that’s no longer serving you and can stand to be left in 2024 as we move into the new year. Also watch out for the fact that when Mercury is retrograde in Sagittarius, over-the-top, exaggerated communication could backfire and cause confusion.
