Calling all book lovers! A new week means a new batch of just-released book recommendations from Woman’s World Book Club—and this time we have a variety of reads from compelling historical fiction to chilling mystery, sweeping fantasy and more!

For October 8 to October 14, open up Shelley Noble’s The Colony Club for a ticket back to Gilded Age New York City. For those more in the mood for a tantalizing mystery, dive into The Sequel by Jean Hanff Korelitz, whose writing was described by master storyteller Stephen King as “insanely readable.” If YA romantasy is your cup of tea, we suggest Sabaa Tahir’s Heir which packs high-stakes drama, action and adventure into every chapter.

On the nonfiction side of things, pick up the inspiring new book, Beyond the Surface, written by paralympic champion and speaker Jessica Long. In her new book, Long shares what it was like having both legs amputated as a toddler and how this harrowing event forced her to overcome challenges—and write her own story—from a very young age.
