It’s no secret that people love to talk about celebrity marriages. From the drama to the mystery and intrigue, there’s just something so alluring about them. But one thing that isn’t talked a lot about, though, is celebrities who married the same person twice. Well, we’ve decided to change that and find out which actresses, classic and new, did just that throughout their careers. Keep reading for more.

Elizabeth Taylor

Actress Elizabeth Taylor might have been married eight times, but it was to seven different men. In 1964, she married her Cleopatra co-star Richard Burton, but divorced him in 1974 after he had an affair with actor Nathalie Delon. Taylor then took a year break from dating before marrying Burton once again in 1975. She eventually left him for good after less than a year of marriage due to his drinking and her pill addiction.

“We were always madly and powerfully in love,” Taylor said of their relationship. “I don’t want to be that much in love ever again.… I gave everything away…my soul, my being, everything.”

She also claimed that “Richard loses his temper with true enjoyment. It’s beautiful to watch.”

“Our fights are delightful screaming matches, and Richard is rather like a small atom bomb going off.” To perhaps get a sense of this, check out their 1966 film Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, where the fights between them are truly explosive.

Following their second divorce, Taylor got married two more times before she died at age 79 in 2011. Burton also got married twice more before dying at age 58 in 1984.

If Burton hadn’t died, though, Taylor once said that she believed “we would have been married a third and final time” because of the letters the two reportedly sent each other post-split.

Pamela Anderson

Actress and activist Pamela Anderson was married to professional poker player Rick Salomon twice within seven years.

Firstly, the two tied the knot in a Las Vegas, Nevada hotel room in October 2007. They then filed for an annulment for “fraud” two months later.

Going their separate ways for seven years, they reconnected in 2014.

“We’re very happy. Our families are very happy, and that’s all that matters,” Anderson said at the time.

Sadly, though, later that same year, the two filed for divorce and they hardly ever talk now.

Salomon is 56 years old and remains unwed, and Anderson is 57 years old and has been married once more.

Lana Turner

Between 1942 and 1944, classic film star Lana Turner married Joseph Stephen “Steve” Crane twice—or once, depending on who you ask.

The pair first tied the knot in July 1942, but it was soon annulled due to the fact that Crane was still legally married to Carol Ann Kurtz.

Then, once Crane’s marriage to Kurtz was finalized, he married Turner again in March 1943. They went on to welcome a daughter together named Cheryl Crane in July 1943 before divorcing in August 1944, with Turner saying that Crane lied about his financial situation and social status.

Following their marriage, Crane and Turner’s daughter made headlines for stabbing and killing her mom’s abusive boyfriend, Johnny Stompanato, at just 14 years old.

“I picked the knife up off the floor. The door flew open. Mother stood there, her hand on the knob. He was coming at her from behind, his arm raised to strike,” Cheryl wrote in her memoir Detour: A Hollywood Story. “I took a step forward and lifted the weapon. He ran on the blade. It went in. In! For three ghastly heartbeats, our bodies fused. He looked straight at me, unblinking. ‘My God, Cheryl, what have you done?’”

Cheryl was arrested, put in jail and underwent a trial for her involvement in the death.

It was a humiliating ordeal to explain on the witness stand what I barely understood myself, to confess before the cameras that strange helplessness that bound me to John for so long, “ Turner said. “More than once, I nearly broke down on the witness stand from the mixture of agony and shame, of grief and relief that I felt about John’s death. But all my emotions were secondary compared to Cheryl’s release—that was what mattered now.”

Following the trial, Cheryl was released—since the court saw her killing as a “justifiable homicide”—but would later run away from home several times and even tried to end her own life.

Feeling defeated, Turner and Crane finally checked their daughter into a mental health hospital, where she received treatment and got better.

Cheryl is 81 years old and lives in Los Angeles with her wife, Joyce LeRoy. Turner tragically died in 1995 at age 74 from oral cancer, and Crane died in 1985 at age 68 from anemia.

Marie Osmond

Marie Osmond is best known for being a television personality in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. But there is something else people know her from, and that’s her marriage to Stephen Craig

Originally, the two were together from 1982 until 1985 and even had a son during that time, but, discovering that the relationship wasn’t what either of them needed, they split up.

Osmond then went on to marry Brian Blosil and had seven kids with him before divorcing in 2007.

Soon, the singer was single and ready to mingle, and who better to reconnect with than her ex-husband Craig?

The pair got remarried in 2011 and have been together ever since.

I remarried my first husband and it’s been wonderful to be with my best friend, to be with this person that loves you unconditionally,” Osmond told First for Women in 2023. “It’s not ‘Marie Osmond’ that he loves; it’s me that he loves. And there’s a comfort in that, there’s a safety in that, there’s a lot of fun in that.”

Osmond, 65, and Craig are often seen together on her Instagram and are happily serving as grandparents to their eight grandchildren.

Natalie Wood

Before her tragic death in 1981, Wood was married to actor Robert Wagner twice. First from 1957 until 1962 and then again from 1972 until her passing.

Between the two of them, they had three stepchildren and one biological child and were reportedly very happy.

Even so, following Wood’s death, Wagner became a person of interest since once they found her, she had several severe bruises and scrapes on her body and had consumed a deadly combination of alcohol, motion sickness pills and painkillers. Several witnesses also reportedly heard Wood and Wagner aggressively arguing before she allegedly drowned.

Wagner also reportedly told the captain of the boat they were on to turn off the lights and refused to let him tell the police that Wood was missing.

“[It is] all conjecture. Nobody knows,” Wagner wrote in his 2008 memoir, Pieces of My Heart. “There are only two possibilities: either she was trying to get away from the argument, or she was trying to tie the dinghy. But the bottom line is that nobody knows exactly what happened.”

As of today, Wagner remains a person of interest in Wood’s death. He is 94 years old and married to actress Jill St. John.
