Danielle Jonas Reveals the One Product She Trusts Most for Sensitive Skin and Eczema (EXCLUSIVE)
Kevin Jonas’ wife shares her go-to household item that keeps her and her daughters’ skin calm and clear
Maintaining healthy skin can get to be a bit difficult with the changing seasons and fluctuating weather, and if you have an underlying skin condition like eczema, you might know something about it. Someone who also understands the struggle of sensitive skin is Danielle Jonas. As a mother of two and wife of rockstar Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, she often has a packed schedule, which includes occasional travel.
Woman’s World had the chance to catch up with Danielle Jonas and discuss how she handles sensitive skin, not just for herself but for her family; her advocacy for those struggling with eczema and her partnership with All Free Clear laundry detergent—her go-to household product for sensitive skin.
Why laundry detergent is a trigger for sensitive skin
When you consider all of the ways you protect your skin and try to keep it clean and healthy, the first thought, generally, is skincare and what we’re putting directly on our skin. But Jonas knows that isn’t always the case.
“It definitely starts in the laundry room, because your clothes are touching you first,” she explained. “We really like clean ingredients, so [all Fee Clear] detergent just seemed like the perfect fit for our family, because not only do I deal with it [sensitive skin], but my two younger girls do.”
How eczema knocked her confidence

One of the less talked-about aspects of dealing with eczema is how it can affect your confidence. Usually, you’ll hear about the symptoms of the skin condition and treatment options. But hardly do you hear others detailing their struggle with confidence while treating eczema.
“Eczema can definitely impact your confidence a lot if you don’t know how to properly treat it,” Jonas shared. “Being in the public eye can definitely be something that you don’t know how to deal with. There was a time where I didn’t go on the road as much with Kevin, because it was impacting me so much. One of my symptoms was that my hair was falling out and I felt like I had to wear extensions to feel like myself. I just started getting very uncomfortable.”
But the more that people share their experience, the more others can start to feel empowered.
“I’m just hoping that being open and vulnerable about it can help others with the condition to feel seen and heard,” she explained. “And as a mom and a business owner, I know it can get very hectic with life, so reminding others to put their skin first is one of the biggest goals this month.”
How Danielle Jonas chooses suitable products for sensitive skin
Choosing the best products that won’t cause skin flare-ups can get tricky, with dozens of options to sift through. Whether it’s skin care, like moisturizer or face wash, or a detergent brand, you’ll want to know the best approach before making a purchase.
Doing research beforehand on which products are skin-friendly and good for dealing with eczema is certainly important. Jonas also recommends keeping an eye out for a specific marker that will let you know the product is good for sensitive skin.
“I think a big comfort is seeing the Seal of Acceptance, the hypoallergenic formulas and that they’re fragrance and dye free… I actually teach the kids to look for that. Alena wants to use all those Hello Kitty [makeup palettes] and things that catch the kids’ eyes. I’m trying to teach her what should catch your eye if you want to maintain no flare-ups and be comfortable in your skin.”
