The Jonas Brothers Drop a Friendly’s Ice Cream Flavor—and the Story Behind It Is Just as Sweet!

“Oh, this is an S.O.S.,” because the Jonas Brothers have teamed up with Friendly’s Ice Cream to create a tasty treat for their fans in honor of the trio’s 20th anniversary. As they gear up for their 20th Anniversary tour, the boys decided to go back to their roots by creating some seriously delicious ice cream flavors.
“Friendly’s has been part of our story from the very beginning,” the Jonas Brothers said. “It’s where we shared some of our earliest moments as brothers and musicians. Launching this ice cream flavor as we celebrate 20 years feels like coming full circle.”
The sweet story behind the Jonas Brothers’ band name
In case you didn’t know, the Jonas Brothers actually have an incredibly sweet memory from the ice cream joint. Originally from Wyckoff, New Jersey, the brothers often frequented their local Friendly’s location to discuss important band matters. It’s the ice cream joint where they first decided on their band name, one that has lived on since 2005. They previously partnered with Friendly’s in 2023, creating three distinct sundaes for each brother. Now, the brothers are partnering with the brand once more to bring a sweet treat to fans that represents all three of them.
“We’ve been hooked on Friendly’s since we were little,” Kevin Jonas shared in 2023.. “Fun fact: We decided on the band’s name at our local Friendly’s back in 2005, while chowing down on Monster Mash sundaes. So, we’re beyond excited to have this opportunity to relive our childhoods and create our own signature Friendly’s creations!”
Three Jonas Brothers, three ice cream flavors?
Given that the brothers have three very different personalities, it only makes sense that Kevin, Joe and Nick would want to choose their own distinct flavors that still work perfectly together, just like the group. The 48-ounce tub includes each sweet taste chosen specifically by the brothers for a delectable dessert.
- Kevin’s Coffee Cookie Crumble: Kevin, the eldest brother, created the Coffee Cookie Crumble, which shows off his love for coffee and pairs it with a delicious cookie. Growing up in a band, coffee was an integral part of fueling the group to stay up for all-night jam sessions and long nights on the road.
- Joe’s Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl: As the middle brother, Joe has his own style and a vibe unlike his older and younger brother, so it’s no surprise that he created a flavor to represent that. Joe’s Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl is just that, pairing chocolate ice cream with ooey-gooey marshmallow for the perfect twist of sweetness.
- Nick’s Vanilla: And while the deliciously sweet tastes of Kevin and Joe’s distinctive choices are the perfect addition to the tub, Nick went with something a bit more subtle than his brother’s choices. Nick’s Vanilla is the perfect base flavor that complements the Coffee Cookie Crumble and Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl superbly.
