Keaton is an actress best known for her work in things like The Godfather (1972), Annie Hall (1977), The First Wives Club (1996), Book Club (2018) and Summer Camp (2024). And while her vocal talents can be heard on the original Broadway soundtrack of Hair in 1968, as well as the songs “You Don’t Own Me” from The First Wives Club, “Anywhere With You” from Book Club: The Next Chapter andLove is Letting Go by Ashe”,  Keaton’s holiday song will be her first ever individual record—which naturally caused the internet to go crazy.

All we wanted for Christmas was Diane Keaton singing holiday tunes,” commented one Instagram user. “Oh my goodness! This is an early present for sure! I’ll be adding it to all my playlists,” wrote another.

Others, though, were quick to comment on how good Keaton looked at 78 by writing things like “She is aging backward! So stunning as always,” and “What a beautiful woman! This is exactly how I wanna look at your age,” on the actress’s announcement post.

What Diane Keaton is up to now

When she isn’t releasing her first-ever single, Keaton keeps quite busy. She just recently had a movie entitled Summer Camp come out, which she starred in with Kathy Bates, Eugene Levy and Alfre Woodard.

She remains happily unmarried but is the proud mom of two adoptive children.

“Motherhood has completely changed me, the actress said, “ It’s just about the most completely humbling experience that I’ve ever had.”

Her kids—Dextor and Duke Keaton—are in their 20s now, but the actress adopted them while she was in her 50s, further solidifying her belief that getting older doesn’t necessarily mean your life is over.

“I never understood the idea that you’re supposed to mellow as you get older. Slowing down isn’t something I relate to at all,” Keaton said in 2012. “The goal is to continue in good and bad, all of it. To continue to express myself, particularly. To feel the world. To explore. To be with people. To take things far. To risk. To love. I just want to know more and see more. The best part is that I’m still here, and because the end is in sight, I treasure it all more.”

You can pre-order Keaton’s holiday song “First Christmas” now wherever you listen to music.
