Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency: ‘I Want to Be at My Best for You’
Dolly is pressing pause on Vegas shows—here’s why and how fans can swap or refund tickets
Just two weeks after sharing that she was dealing with kidney stones and an infection, Dolly Parton announced she was officially postponing her Las Vegas residency, citing her health as the reason. We have everything you need to know about her postponing the show, including what to do if you bought tickets, below.
What to know about Dolly Parton’s Las Vegas residency
On Sunday, September 28, Parton announced she was postponing her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” the 79-year-old superstar wrote on Instagram.

“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get the show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
She then went on to share the new expected dates for the show, which is set to run from December 2025 to September 2026. She also told her fans that those who purchased tickets for the shows will get an email detailing how they can transfer them to a new date or get a refund.
What to expect from Dolly Parton’s Las Vegas residency
Before the delay, Parton had already shared what fans can expect from her upcoming shows.
In the initial press release, Parton’s team shared that the singer is expected to weave together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites, including “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Coat of Many Colors” and many more.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s most beloved entertainers at the peak of her success,” reads the statement.
Also when she announced the residency, she said, “To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I haven’t worked in Vegas in years, and I’ve always loved singing there.”
“I’m looking so forward to the shows in the Colosseum at Caesars, and I hope you are as well. See you there!”

Following the announcement, the singer posted about the shows on Instagram, telling her followers to “Grab your rhinestones” because “Vegas is calling.”
Parton’s previous Las Vegas appearances include a string of shows in the 1980s at the Riviera Hotel, as well as four concerts at the Mirage Hotel in 1993. Both of those venues have since closed down.
“I had a great time staying in some of the world’s best hotels, eating free food and trying not to order so much room service as a way to pass the time between my shows,” Parton told The Tennessean of her previous residencies. “It’s a magical city, and I love how much the city celebrates entertainment. It’s hot out there, though, so besides the shows and the casinos, there’s really not a whole lot to do.”
Tickets for the rescheduled December 2025-September 2026 dates will be available for purchase wherever concert tickets are sold.
