With General Hospital’s Josslyn Jacks making out with her WSB handler, Vaughn, and keeping big secrets from their boss Brennan and her mom Carly, Daytime Emmy-winner Eden McCoy talks to Woman’s World about the fallout that’s sure to come for her character.

As McCoy celebrates a decade in Port Charles, the 22-year-old blonde beauty (who appears to have gone less platinum of late!) also reflects on what her younger self would think of her life today.

Plus, McCoy gets candid about how she feels about her wild new storyline—not to mention her General Hospital leading man, Bryce Durfee.

Eden McCoy isn’t giving back her 2023 Daytime Emmy Award for Younger Performer, but she has to admit there’s something nice about NOT being nominated at this year’s Daytime Emmys.

“Because you’re so stressed out about your category that you can’t really enjoy the experience, versus just being here to support,” she explains when we catch her on the carpet. “So it feels great to be out. We won Best Show and so many awards. It was amazing. It’s such a great feeling.

“It’s also always fun to see people from other shows,” she adds. “It’s a unique experience as an actor and soaps are so limited that this feels like such a community. That’s my favorite part of coming to these things. I just like to socialize and figure out people’s life stories.”

McCoy imagines her younger self is ‘proud and happy… and so stoked to have boobs’

Having joined General Hospital in late 2015, McCoy has certainly come a long way from being a cutie with squeezable little cheeks.

“Little everything,” she cracks. “I was a prepubescent person! If that kid saw me today, there would be a lot of shock about what my life is now, but I think she should be really proud and happy… and so stoked to have boobs! Me at 12 just wanted boobs.”

While that may be partially true, McCoy was chasing more than puberty when she joined General Hospital. Even as Joss’s drama grew, the straight-A student and star athlete worked hard to land a spot on the University of Southern California’s volleyball team.

“I came out of the womb 30,” she says. “I was really strange as a child. I acted like an adult. That was just more comfortable for me.”

McCoy on focusing on acting – ‘I keep myself busy in a different way, now’

When our sister site spoke to McCoy about growing up on General Hospital, she revealed she’d taken a gap year from college.

“Devoting my time to one thing—which is the thing I want to do with my life and my career—felt really important to me,” she explained back in 2023. “I’m not doing Hannah Montana speed anymore. School will always be there.”

With The Mime and the Clown, a short film she made with her real-life leading man, Jonathan Heit, making the festival rounds this past year, she’s feeling good about her decision.

“I keep myself busy in a different way, now,” she says. “I love my life a lot more, but I’m very grateful for everything I was able to do.”

She’s also grateful that Joss is still keeping her on her toes!

Having spent her formative years in her mother’s world, Joss has always been Carly’s fierce little mini-me, but after losing Dex and killing Cyrus in revenge, the college kid joined the show’s infamous WSB and started saving the world.

“Big, big changes,” McCoy laughs. “People love it or they hate it. But hey… I’m loving it! I just celebrated 10 years on the show, so when I get a new story that is not reminiscent of something I’ve already done, it’s very exciting—regardless of what it is.”

“I also love working with new people so much,” she adds. “That was a big excitement for me, having this totally new story. It meant having all these new scene partners. Not that I don’t absolutely adore everyone I’ve ever worked with here, but it’s fun.”

Sharing ‘GH’ romance and adventure with Bryce Durfee is a ‘blast’

As for her latest leading man, after all the loves Joss has lost already, Bryce Durfee’s Vaughn came close to being taken out during the Five Poppies fiasco. McCoy can only hope he survives their romance and escapades.

“Bryce has been a blast,” she says. “He’s professional and awesome. He’s great!”

With the WSB a stealthy agency, Joss is currently neck-deep in lies. In addition to enjoying a secret romance with Vaughn, she’s spying on her cousin Lucas, clashing with baddies like Dalton, and feeding her mother half-truths.

Chances are, however, that this young agent’s biggest adventure will come when Mama Carly finally calls her out on all of it!

We’re not sure what exactly Carly’s up to, but the world-class schemer has definitely been playing the long game since Jason informed her that her boyfriend Brennan had recruited her daughter to the life.

“There’s so much to reveal, and I don’t even have the scripts,” McCoy cries. “Brennan should be worried. It’s harder for Carly to be so mad at Joss. But I can’t wait to not only find out Carly knows I’m in the WSB, but also the fact that I KILLED someone. That’s going to be… yeah!”

McCoy on her dream ‘GH’ future – ‘I want to be a mob boss!’

While McCoy is loving the WSB spy life on General Hospital, she tells Woman’s World that, having grown up in Sonny’s house, she’s hoping the WSB is just a pit stop for Joss.

“When I got this story, I thought it was great because it’s sort of mob adjacent,” she explains. “I’m kind of getting what I’ve always dreamed of—it’s just a different front. But I want to be a mob boss, and I don’t care about anything else! One day. That’s my dream…”

In the meantime, let’s hope lying WSB agent Joss doesn’t just make up with Carly on General Hospital, but also survives Thanksgiving and the holidays with her!
