‘Bewitched’ Star Erin Murphy Surprises Fans With Unexpected Billy Corgan Collaboration

If you spent the ’90s with Smashing Pumpkins on your stereo and reruns of Bewitched on your TV, Erin Murphy just gave you the crossover you never knew you needed. The actress, who grew up on one of television’s most beloved sitcoms, posted a surprise Instagram photo with the band’s frontman, Billy Corgan, in March 2026—and hinted that the two have big plans together.

Erin Murphy revealed she is a huge fan of Billy Corgan

Before dropping the photo with Corgan, Murphy teased her Instagram followers with a playful setup.

“Hey guys, I am on my way to do an interview with a very, very famous lead singer to what I would call an alternative rock band,” she said.

Then came the reveal, and her excitement was contagious.

“Answer to today’s question: Billy Corgan, lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins and one of the coolest, smartest, most interesting people ever!” Murphy wrote in a follow-up post. “Looking forward to sharing our interview and future collaborations. ❤️#billycorgan #smashingpumpkins.”

That phrase—“future collaborations,” plural—had fans buzzing in her comments.

“Billy’s doing a lot of great things this year 👏👏,” one person commented. “That’s Awesome 🙌,” said another. “Fantastic!!” added a third.

This isn’t a passing fandom

What makes this pairing feel genuine? Murphy has real history with the band. She said she loves the Smashing Pumpkins and saw them in concert in the ’90s. And here’s where it gets even better: four of her kids saw them in concert last year. Let’s face it: when your love for a band passes down to the next generation, that’s the real thing.

Murphy’s post referenced both “our interview” and “future collaborations,” suggesting more than one project is in the works. An interview could mean anything from a podcast to a longer-form media project. What the collaborations might look like remains a mystery—but fans are watching closely.

What’s the latest update on the ‘Bewitched’ reboot?

Murphy played Tabitha Stephens, the young daughter of Samantha and Darrin Stephens, on the classic sitcom Bewitched from 1966 to 1972, appearing in over 100 episodes. She’s been increasingly visible lately, and for good reason.

Deadline announced in November 2025 that Fox has put in development a reboot of Bewitched, an hourlong reimagining of the classic TV series from writer/executive producer Judalina Neira and executive producer Doug Robinson and Sony Pictures Television.

Murphy has been candid about her feelings on the news. She told New Idea in February 2026 that she was “excited” by the reboot.

“The writer, who is great, is a friend,” she said. “If they asked me to appear on the show, absolutely I would! I’d love to be included in some way, and I know fans of the original Bewitched would enjoy that fun reference to the past.”

Murphy is a proud mother of six sons from her three marriages, and is now a grandmother of five. She’s spoken openly about stepping away from Hollywood to raise her family.

“After Bewitched, it was great to lead a normal life. Motherhood is a hectic juggling act, but I’m now back working in the biz,” she said.

With the Bewitched reboot generating buzz and a collaboration with Billy Corgan on the horizon, Murphy is clearly enjoying a new creative chapter. For those of us who grew up watching her on TV and then spent our 20s listening to “Tonight, Tonight” on repeat, whatever she and Corgan have cooking is worth keeping an eye on.
