Jenna Johnson Reveals Her Dream ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Partners and Life With Val (Exclusive)
From her favorite partners to her must have hair care product, she held nothing back
Jenna Johnson is one of the most beloved professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars. Not only has she won two Mirrorball trophies, but she’s also married to another pro—Valentin “Val” Chmerkovskiy—who viewers love to see on screen. Woman’s World recently caught up with Johnson to learn more about dancefloor dynamics, who her dream partner would be and how she keeps her hair looking fantastic while moving and grooving. Jenna Johnson talks ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Johnson joined the Dancing with the Stars cast back in 2014 and since then has competed with a variety of celebrities, including JoJo Siwa, Corey Feldman, Adam Rippon and Joey Graziadei.
“JoJo Siwa and Joey Graziadei are obviously two of my favorites. And then I have to throw in Adam Rippon in there as well,” the 31-year-old said. “I think what made them so special for me as a partner was they were so open to the experience. They were incredible students, and so hungry to learn ballroom.”
“Even with Joey from two seasons ago, anything that I asked him to do or threw at him, he was, ‘Okay, yeah, sure.’ He was just so open and willing, and I think it showed so many different sides of him,” Johnson continues“People just fell in love with him being so vulnerable to the experience. Obviously work ethic is a huge thing, and they all had that mindset that’s what makes a successful partner. I’ve been really lucky to have some great ones.”
Currently, there is no word on who Johnson, or any of the pros, will be paired up with for Season 35, but the mother-of-one does have some celebrities that she hopes to see hit the ballroom.
“I feel like I’ve been on the Jason Kelce train for a minute. I’m, like, ‘How do we get him?” Johnson said. “I’ve also been begging Taylor Lautner to do it for many years. I’m hoping one day he’ll say yes. He could come in and do his backflips. His wife (also named Taylor Lautner) can come, too. They can be with me and Val. That would be iconic.”

Johnson and Chmerkovskiy have been married since 2018 and they have one child together. Both of them are pros on Dancing with the Stars, and in Season 34 Chmerkovskiy and his partner Alix Earle even made it into the top two.
“It’s funny, because we flip flop. We either have a winner or we get eliminated. They just switch us every year,” Johnson jokes. “It was so incredible because Alix Earle is one of a kind. She is not only talented, but she is so kind and sweet. And I’m happy that she decided to do the show and she got to be paired with Val, because I think the partnership was just so magical.”
“He pushed her and she just was open to it,” she continued. “I feel like America has fallen in love with her. And they created some of my favorite dances Val has ever done on the show. They were such an epic partnership to watch.”

Dancing is hard work, and to keep her hair intact Johnson said she prefers one product: the Revlon VersaStyler.
