Heidi Klum Discusses ‘AGT,’ Covering an ‘80s Music Hit and More During Viral ‘Hot Ones’ Interview

She also pulled the curtain back on her viral Halloween costumes

Heidi Klum appeared on Hot Ones, the famous interview series where superstar guests answer questions about their lives and careers while also eating progressively spicier hot wings. Despite admitting at the beginning of her interview that she didn’t have much experience eating spicy food, the supermodel held her own as she discussed the craziest moments she’s experienced during her America’s Got Talent tenure, her foray into the music industry, being a busy mom, her viral annual Halloween costumes and more!

Heidi Klum recalled her scariest ‘AGT’ memory

Hot Ones host Sean Evans praised Klum for her notable states of panic when she watches dangerous daredevil acts on long-running reality competition series America’s Got Talent. He asked her what stands out in her memory as the time she was most frightened during an audition, and she answered without hesitation!

“When I had an apple literally shot off my head,” Klum responded. “Because they ask us all the time ‘Oh, can you join us? Come onto the stage,’ and I’m like ‘Okay!’ because you never know what happens. And the guys were all the way in the audience over there with a bow and arrow, and I sit there with an apple on my head and he shoots the apple off my head.”

Klum added that the stunt also worried her husband, who told her to never do anything so dangerous again. Participating in silly acts is one thing, Klum said, but there’s a real risk that comes with some of the death-defying performances since things can and do sometimes go awry.

Heidi Klum discussed partnering with music stars

While Klum is an Emmy Award winner with many talents, she has never claimed that singing was one of her strong suits. However, she recently began dabbling in the industry. In 2022, she partnered with Snoop Dogg to release her own song, Chai Tea with Heidi. This year, she also covered Corey Hart’s 1983 hit Sunglasses at Night along with DJ and music producer Tiësto.

“I always loved singing and I also love when I have a crazy idea and I get it to the finish line,” said Klum. She added that she brought her idea to Tiësto, but admitted that she didn’t really sing. “I was so happy in the end that I’m like ‘I can’t even believe I pulled this off.’ My kids, too — they were uber excited about this.”

Heidi Klum offered a glimpse behind the scenes of elaborate Halloween costumes

For years, Klum has been known for her annual Halloween party and incredibly involved costumes. One example Evans pulled up during the interview was 2016’s Heidi Klum: Attack of the Clones, in which Klum teamed up with five models that looked a great deal like her and dressed everyone in the exact same outfits.

“A lot of the times I wish that I could clone myself, you know, with four kids, TV shows, all these different things, designing, blah blah blah,” Klum said. “I was like ‘I would love to have a twin or I would love to be cloned.’”

That’s when the idea popped into her head to make such a dream come true for Halloween! The hardest part of the experiment, Klum said, was the casting process of finding five women who were her exact same height to essentially act as her clones for the evening. As a proud nod to her heritage, Klum also wrote “Made in Germany” on the box out of which she and her group appeared.
