Everything You Need to Know About Jennifer Hudson’s Hallmark Christmas Collaboration: Hear Her Songs!

This holiday season, we got the collab we didn’t know we needed between none other than Grammy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson and our favorite place for all things Christmas coziness, the Hallmark Channel. While this year marks the 15th anniversary of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas, in which they fill the airwaves with original holiday films throughout the season, Hudson is celebrating the network with the release of her song “Let There Be Joy” while also celebrating Hallmark’s “Joy To Your World” campaign.
“Let There Be Joy” is just one of the songs off of her new holiday album, The Gift of Love—the first holiday album the singer has put out in her career.

“No one does the holidays quite like my friends at Hallmark, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate the season together with my new song ‘Let There Be Joy,’ as we Countdown to Christmas,” said the EGOT winner in a press release put out by Hallmark. “Music and movies have always been a favorite holiday tradition for me and my family, so I hope this song can become the same tradition for everyone on Santa’s list this year!”
While we aren’t quite sure which film in the 2024 Countdown to Christmas lineup her new song will appear in, we’re thrilled knowing her powerhouse vocals will make their way to the Hallmark screen—and the famed network has even said that additional songs off the album will be heard across other Hallmark programming!
“Jennifer Hudson is the dream artist, embodying the exact joy that we want to convey this holiday season,” said Hallmark Vice President of Music Strategies and Licensing Allison Thiel. “Her remarkable talent, powerhouse voice, and magnetic presence takes her performance of ‘Let There Be Joy’ to another level. She is nothing short of spectacular and is sure to make this holiday season unforgettable.”
In addition to “Let There Be Joy,” the album features holiday classics like “O Holy Night,” “The Christmas Song,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “Winter Wonderland,” to name a few favorites. Hearing her impressive vocals take on these classic Christmas tunes is something you won’t want to miss!

“As a creative, you always feel the urge to create, and a Christmas album is something I have always wanted to do,” Hudson told Variety. “I couldn’t think of a better time than now to do it and express my artistry. Now I have a talk show with families and a platform and an audience that I can share it with. Growing up, I used to recreate ‘Oh Holy Night.’ I would remix it and pass it out every year to my family as my Christmas gift. Now, I get to share that with the world.”
Jennifer Hudson: more than just a voice
While Hudson first gained fame when she competed as a contestant on American Idol, the vocal powerhouse has built a career for herself far beyond her singing voice. Over the years, she has brought home two Grammys, a Daytime Emmy, an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and a Tony for her work as a producer.
