Catch Up With the Cast of ‘Mermaids’ and See Where the Stars Ended Up!

Find out which star of the film is no longer an actor...

Fans of 90s cult hit Mermaids were given the royal treatment with this particular cast. Released in 1990 and starring Cher, Winona Ryder and Michael Schoeffling, the Mermaids cast is star-studded and most definitely worth the watch.

When Mrs. Flax (Cher) and her daughters (Ryder and Ricci) move — yet again — to a new town, the girls hope that they’ll finally be able to settle down, but when Charlotte begins to fall for a younger guy (Schoeffling), it feels like the past is repeating itself. In the end, the family has to learn to accept each other for who they are.

Pulling in a few classic celebrities for this film created an exciting watch. Audiences and critics agreed, with film critic Roger Ebert writing, “I found this an interesting movie… sometimes we simply sit there in the dark, stupefied by the spectacle.”

Thoughts On Mermaids: “I know from being a single mother myself … you try to do your best, but sometimes you’re not equipped,” she explained. “The line ‘You guys don’t come with instructions,’ that’s my line. Thoughts On Mermaids: What I related to about Charlotte is that she’s inconsistent. One day she’ll be obsessed with Catholicism, but the next day she’ll be obsessed with Joe the gardener,” she said. “I had really been going through stuff like that. I would think, I’m going crazy! I don’t know what I want!”
