The Shocking Thing In Your Medicine Cabinet That Can Make Your Makeup Look 10 Times Better
We love handy beauty tricks that defy aging, improve skin tone, and make getting ready in the morning easier. So when we heard about the latest skincare trend, and found out that it uses just one ingredient–something SO MANY of us have at home–we were as thrilled as can be.
The mystery ingredient? Milk of magnesia, something most of us have stashed in our medicine cabinets. Typically used as an oral laxative and antacid, milk of magnesia has some hidden talents say many women. When applied to the face as a primer before makeup, It can help fight shine, decrease redness, enhance smoothness, reduce pore size, and just give that overall healthy glow.
“I’ve been using Phillips’s Milk of Magnesia as my primer for years,” Lasaundra Lasker, an aesthetician and skin therapist at Ulta Beauty, told TODAY.com.”It keeps oil at bay and helps set your makeup so it lasts longer.”
To use it, apply a very thin layer of the milk on your skin several minutes before applying makeup as usual. Some people also use it as a face mask, applying a layer to the skin, letting it dry completely, and then removing it with warm water.
