It’s been a few months since Landman Season 2 came out, and if you’re anything like us, you’ll possibly spend your time either rewatching old episodes or scouring the internet hoping to see some Season 3 news. And now, thanks to the show’s director, we finally have some! Below, we share everything we know about Landman Season 3, including when Sam Elliott, Demi Moore, Billy Bob Thornton and the rest of the cast are expected to start filming.

What we know so far about ‘Landman’ Season 3

Landman Season 3 was confirmed by Paramount before the second season even finished airing. The news was met with a lot of excitement from fans and the cast. This included Elliott, who plays T.L. Norris on the show.

“I’m excited to see what unfolds in Season 3,” Elliott told Extra TV in November 2025, per our sister site US Weekly. “I mean, we’re talking about Season 2, but that’s the backstory for us at this point.”

Currently, there isn’t a lot of information available as to what Season 3 will be about. Based on the Season 2 finale, it’s safe to assume that T.L., Tommy (Thornton) and Cooper’s (Jacob Lofland) new oil company, CTT (Cooper, Tommy and Thomas) Oil Exploration and Cattle, will play a big part in the overall storyline.

“Hopefully, we possibly get back to the oil and do some stuff like that next season. Just really in the patch and working,” Lofland teased to Us Weekly earlier this year. “Taylor [Sheridan] always surprises us so I try not to have too many ideas in my head. I trust the process but I’m just looking forward to getting the scripts and seeing where we go all together.”

Who will be in Season 3 of ‘Landman’?

Along with Lofland, Thornton and Elliott, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Demi Moore, Kayla Wallace, Andy Garcia and Mark Collie are all expected to return for Landman Season 3.

“I don’t pitch anything! I understand this show and whatever the vision is. All the actors are really comfortable at this point; it doesn’t matter what direction we go in—if it’s conflict and fighting and separation—this cast is extraordinary. And you don’t always get that. You just don’t,” Larter told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year. “I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and everyone is just phenomenal at what they do, from the icons all the way down to people who are just starting out within this business who are on our show. It’s a level of respect that people pay the crew and the actors. It’s a really special set.”

When does ‘Landman’ Season 3 premiere?

As of publication, Landman Season 3 doesn’t have a release date. It does have a filming start date, with Larter telling The Hollywood Reporter, “I think we’re going back in May, so we’ll probably head down [to Texas] in April.”

“It’s very rare that we get to stay pretty close to what our [release] cycle is and that we’re going back to film the next year,” she continued. “So often with TV shows, you could have two or three years between. Our show is tight to stay within the cycle, so I’m in the world of Landman for eight months of the year.”

Once they do start filming, the episodes will be edited rather quickly. According to director Stephen Kay, “We’re cutting while we’re shooting and so it’ll hopefully be out soon.” This means that once filming starts, so does the editing process, which will bring Season 3 to your TV screen a lot sooner than before.

“We are a little bit later than we were the last two seasons, but that only matters for us because of the heat in Texas,” co-creator Christian Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter. “When we get back into production this year, it’s going to be pretty full on, and just getting hotter.”

“We have so many exteriors, and that’s a good thing because this show thrives in the dust and the heat and the reality of that gritty, hot world. But it is hard on the crew and cast, and on everybody. Twelve-hour days in 100-plus degree weather is no joke. But that is our cross to bear, not the audiences,” he continued. “I’m excited about the schedule and I think the rhythm we’re in right now works really well.”
