Pirate Dinners to Power Moves: ‘Landman’ Season 2’s 7 Most Talked-About Scenes
These iconic moments—from themed dinners to dramatic twists—made Season 2 unmissable TV
Taylor Sheridan’s hit modern-day Texas drama Landman officially finished airing its second season this past weekend. And while there is no news on when exactly fans can expect Season 3, there are reports on which scenes from Season 2 fans are loving. Below, we break down the top seven most iconic moments from Landman Season 2, including, of course, the highly popular pirate dinner.
7. Ainsley’s college interview

Season 2 of Landman started off strong with Ainsley Norris’ (Michelle Randolph) Texas Christian University (TCU) interview in Episode 1 with university staff member Greta Stidham (Miriam Silverman). It’s a tense moment filled with Ainsley’s signature aloofness that ended with her getting into the university.
Bonus moment: When Ainsley goes back to TCU in Episode 9 and comes face to face with Greta again after dealing with a housing issue. The two are visibly still at odds with one another, but still manage to find a way to make viewers smile.
6. T.L. comes home

Since the arrival of the first Season 2 trailer, viewers have been anxiously waiting for T.L (Sam Elliott) to reunite with his son Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton). Their reunion then happens in Episode 2, but it isn’t until Episode 4 that Tommy takes his father out of his nursing home and moves him into the “frat house”—his words, not ours. From there, T.L. does what he does best—sits on the porch, stares at things and continues to bond with his son and grandkids. It’s a truly heartwarming storyline that highlights just how good an actor Elliott is.
5. Cami Miller’s speech

Also in Season 2, Episode 1, Cami Miller (Demi Moore) gives an incredible speech to Texas’ most influential bankers and oil workers after taking over M-Tex Oil from her late husband, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). It ends with her delivering the line that viewers loved from the trailer: “I’m meaner,” something that Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) commented on.
“What motivated that?” he asked.
“Cancelling that little b-tch’s vacation to Tulum,” Cami replied, while referencing a young blonde woman who told Cami in the bathroom that she didn’t belong there. It was a tense moment that, in the end, allowed viewers to see just how strong Cami is with and without her husband.
4. Rebecca gets a love interest

Throughout Season 1 of Landman, Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) is portrayed as cold, distant and hard to get along with. And while there is nothing wrong with those personality traits, we will admit that it was nice to see a softer side of her this season, thanks to new boyfriend Charlie Newsom (Guy Burnet).
“With Rebecca, for all of her career, she has had success at the very top of any priority over anything in her life. When she lets her guard down and ends up in this situation, it’s a bit jarring for her,” Wallace told Variety of the storyline in December of 2025. “It’s so much fun because you get to explore these new sides of her. ‘How would she react in this situation?’ As an actor, getting to play these vulnerable sides to her is a lot of fun as well, because it makes her more human.”
3. Angela throws a pirate-themed dinner

One thing Angela Norris (Ali Larter) is always going to do is throw an elaborate themed dinner—and in Episode 5, she decides that that night’s theme is going to be “pirates.” Not only is the meal filled with the show’s incomparable dialogue and fights, but it also features some of the most elaborate costumes and design work viewers have seen thus far. Angela, please invite us to the next dinner!
2. Cooper accidentally kills someone

At the end of Episode 9, Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) is seen beating a man to death after he tries to sexually assault Ariana (Paulina Chávez). He’s then arrested and taken to the hospital, where viewers learn that the person Copper attacked died from a heart attack. According to Lofland, this plotline could potentially be huge come Season 3.
“Just as a person, it’s something that they’ll definitely carry. It’s not something he’s gonna forget by any means. It’ll definitely weigh on him in some way, shape or form,” the actor told US Weekly. “Taylor [Sheridan] always surprises us, so I try not to have too many ideas in my head. I trust the process but I’m just looking forward to getting the scripts and seeing where we go all together.”
“There’s so many directions we could go in Season 3 that I’m really not sure. There’s going to be roadblocks and bumps throughout it because nothing can be perfect. There’s a lot up in the air that we’re waiting to find out,” he concluded.
1. Tommy gets fired

Also in Episode 9, Tommy gets fired from M-Tex oil and instead of trying to go back, in Episode 10 he decides to start his own oil company with his friends and family. The details on how the company is going to work do remain somewhat of a mystery, as does how Cami is going to react to the news, but even so, the cast remains excited for this new storyline.
“Hopefully, we possibly get back to the oil and do some stuff like that next season. Just really in the patch and working,” Lofland told US Weekly.
