It’s nearly time to step back into Walnut Grove because the Little House on the Prairie reboot series has officially begun production and is gearing up to film the iconic story once more. The cast recently got together for their first table read of the show and we have the behind-the-scenes photos you are going to adore.
The stars of the new show posed for a cast photo and a few were taken during their table read. If we can gather anything from these moments, it’s that this cast already has good chemistry and they are going to be the perfect Ingalls family.
The cast includes four members of the Ingalls family and a few friends from their journey. Featured from the core four is Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline “Ma” Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls and Luke Bracey as Charles “Pa” Ingalls.
Alongside the family are Warren Christie as John Edwards, Meegwun Fairbrother as Mitchell, Wren Zhawenim Gotts as Good Eagle, Alyssa Wapanatǎhk as White Sun and Jocko Sims as Dr. George Tann. According to IMDB, actor Xander Cole will also be joining the series as Little Puma. See their sweet cast photo above!
Ma and Pa share a loving glance
There is no doubt that the stars portraying Charles and Caroline Ingalls are a perfect match and nothing shows that better than the sweet moment that was captured of the two during a read-through.
Luke Bracey and Crosby Fitzgerald, Ma and Pa, respectively, shared a longing glance as they took on their roles as a married couple. It’s clear from just one photo that they are going to be a perfect Charles and Caroline.
Ingalls family fun
Another behind-the-scenes photo showed just how much fun the Ingalls can have when they’re not trying to rebuild their life on the other side of the country. Halsey and Hughes are playfully hugging one another and smiling while Bracey and Fitzgerald smile at the girls. The sweet moment was captured on camera and it has got everyone so excited to see them portray a loving family.
Produced by CBS Studios, the Little House on the Prairie reboot is described as “Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
The new series is based on the original TV adaptation of the same name, which aired from 1974 to 1983, and starred Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon. The original show, as well as this upcoming revival, was adapted from the series of novels written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Filming for the series is set to begin in June in Winnipeg, Canada, and hopefully will premiere sometime in 2026, only on Netflix!
