Ellyn Jameson Joins ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff, ‘Marshals’—Meet the Full Cast of the New Western Show
From returning 'Yellowstone' favorites to exciting newcomers, get to know the stars bringing Montana's latest drama to life
Marshals (formerly known as Y: Marshals) officially aired this past Sunday, and while Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille) is dead, viewers do have several other new cast members that could potentially be just as smart and loyal. Below, we share who is who in the Marshals cast and detail where you have seen them before.
Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton

Grimes is a 41-year-old actor and musician from Dayton, Ohio. Aside from Yellowstone, his other titles include Brothers & Sisters (2009 to 2010), American Sniper (2014), Fifty Shades of Grey (2015), Fifty Shades Darker (2017), Fifty Shades Freed (2018), Into the Ashes (2019) and Eddington (2025). In Marshals, he will reprise his role as Kayce Dutton, a former Navy SEAL turned family man.
“We definitely wanted to make sure to give it a real story and make it interesting and make it believable,” the actor told People magazine of the spinoff in June of this year. “If it was just like, ‘well, he’s happy’—we’re just going to watch him be happy? That’s not very cool. But I’ll say this, the idea that was pitched to me is very, very good and very interesting, and it really roped me in and I think it will rope the audience in as well.”
Grimes has been married to Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, since 2018, and they welcomed their first child in 2024.
Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin

Logan Marshall-Green is the newest actor to be cast in the spinoff show. Prior to this, he’s been in Dark Blue (2009 to 2010), The Invitation (2015), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Damnation (2017 to 2018), Big Sky (2021 to 2022) and And Just Like That… (2025). In Marshals, he will portray Pete Calvin, a friend of Kayce’s from the military who will help bring both justice and chaos to Montana.
As of publication, Marshall-Green hasn’t commented on the cast announcement. He is 48 years old and originally from Charleston, South Carolina.
Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater

Gil Birmingham is a Native American actor best known for the Twilight series (2008 to 2012), Hell or High Water (2016), Wind River (2017), Animal Kingdom (2017 to 2019), Siren (2018 to 2020) and Poker Face (2025). He plays Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone, the man who Kayce sells the ranch to at the end of show, and he is expected to reprise that role in Marshals.
“Five and a half seasons, seven years, 14 days, six hours. It’s bittersweet. I think we all know that nothing lasts forever, unless you’re Law and Order, or something like that,” Birmingham told Screen Rant of the series ending in 2024. “It was a great resolution, very powerful. I think, throughout the whole last half of the season, we were all quite introspective and nostalgic about sharing our seven years together, and just being so blessed to be part of such a great project and great people. So, I don’t know that we’re letting go of that. It’s over, essentially, but we don’t know any more than that. We’re just riding on hope.”
Birmingham is 72 years old and originally from San Antonio, Texas.
Mo Brings Plenty as Mo

Mo Brings Plenty is another Yellowstone actor set to appear in Marshals. His other credits include Cowboys & Aliens (2011), Hell on Wheels (2014), The American West (2016) and Topper (2025). He will play Mo in Marshals, Rainwater’s trusted sidekick.
“I would love to remain in the Sheridan realm because everything is brilliantly written, and factual in a lot of cases,” Plenty told Wide Open Country in 2024. “It would [also] be wonderful to work with [Birmingham] in another project down the road, once Yellowstone comes to an end.”
Plenty is 56 years old and married to Sara Ann Haney-Brings Plenty.
Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton

Brecken Merrill is a child actor whose credits include This is Us (2022) and Lifeline (2025). He plays Tate Dutton in Yellowstone, a role that he’ll reprise in the spinoff.
“I keep seeing farewell posts, and I guess it’s time. Goodbye, Tate. It was an honor and a privilege to grow up with you,” the 17-year-old wrote on Instagram in 2024 following the end of Yellowstone. “I’m forever grateful to Taylor and my whole Yellowstone family. You guys are all magic makers, and I’m proud to know you.”
Arielle Kebbel as Belle

Arielle Kebbel is an American actress best known for Gilmore Girls (2003 to 2004), John Tucker Must Die (2006), The Vampire Diaries (2009 to 2017), 90210 (2011 to 2013), Fifty Shades Freed (2018), Ballers (2015 to 2019) and Rescue: Hi-Surf (2024 to 2025). Riley Green as Garrett
