But what we’re forgetting about is the holiday-themed TV shows that have been pushed out onto streaming services like Netflix over the past few years, whether released as a limited series or continually pulling in viewers season after season.

‘Dash & Lily’ (2020)
Released during the peak of the pandemic, Dash & Lily was a special treat to bring that warm and fuzzy Christmas feeling back into the air. Based on the 2010 book Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares, by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, this rom-com series follows a cynical Dash and an optimistic Lily as they embark on a whirlwind romance.
When Lily’s family leaves her home for Christmas, she needs to find a way to make the most of the holiday, so she writes a set of dares for a stranger. Though they’ve never met, Dash (Austin Abrams) and Lily (Midori Francis) pass dares and share their dreams with each other via a red notebook, which they leave in different locations throughout New York City. During their game, the two end up falling for each other, but it might not be as simple as it seems.
Though the show was a success with viewers and fans desired a second season, Dash & Lily was canceled after only 8 episodes, leaving everyone wanting more.
