White Rabbit on London Subway Confuses and Delights Riders

We hope he’s not late, late, for a very important date. An adorable white rabbit has been spotted multiple times riding on London’s public transit system, confusing but delighting its fellow human riders.

In late September, a few commuters took to Twitter to share the adorably bizarre experience they had. One user with the handle @MattHepburnClan snapped a photo of the little guy looking cozy as ever on the floor by a corner, with the simple caption, “There’s a rabbit on my bus.”

Several bus and train riders responded to the striking image, claiming they’ve also seen that same exact white rabbit in other locations around London, always seeming to be riding somewhere on the public transit system.

Some Twitter users even shared their own photos of the sweet creature for proof of his illustrious travels on multiple forms of transportation, such as the overground, as pictured here.

Unsurprisingly, this strange sight on buses and subways instantly reminded many folks of the famous white rabbit always in a hurry to get somewhere in the classic story Alice in Wonderland.

Much like the classic story, the mystery of where this specific rabbit came from and where he was going was ongoing for quite some time. While some users were worried about the rabbit’s safety and well-being (and even whether he had a ticket or not), the original poster said he was able to track down the rabbit’s rightful owner, who said the rabbit apparently does this often.

So I tracked down the owner: a laid back, space hippy&apparently he does this often. I did have to stop a family from treading on it tho!

In the meantime, we just hope the rabbit stays safe wherever he’s hopping off to, and that he arrives on time at his stop!
