7-Eleven Is Giving Away Free Slurpees To Help You Beat The Heat: Here’s How to Get One
This year the chain is also giving away a brand new tongue-twisting treat!
It’s officially July 11 and you know what that means! It’s time to get your free Slurpee at the 7-Eleven gas stations. But how exactly does the giveaway work? And is it different this year than in years past? We look at all of that and more below!
How to get a free Slurpee from 7-Eleven
Ever since 2002 7-Eleven has given away free Slurpees July 11. And this year is no different. In order to get one all you have to do is go to in to any 7-Eleven across the country, walk over to the Slurpee station, get a small cup and fill it up with whatever flavor you’re craving. These their highly anticipated return of the Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl, cherry and blue raspberry.
This year’s twist
Also happening this year on July 11 is a one-of-a-kind, never-been-done-before perk. Members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards programs are able to get an S temporary tongue tattoo, or “Tongue-toos” as the company is calling them, after receiving their Slurpee at either a 7-Eleven location or one of their Speedways, which is a convenience store chain they bought back in 2021.
“This Slurpee Day, we’re mixing things up with new flavors, our celebratory swag and even a twist designed to mark tastebuds in the coolest way possible,” Marissa Jarratt, the company’s executive vice president and chief marketing and sustainability officer, said in a press release.
However, the free tongue tattoos are only available in the cities listed below.
7-Eleven locations: Chicago, Illinois; Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; Norfolk, Virginia; Orlando, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Diego, California; Tampa, Florida; and Washington, D.C.
Speedway locations: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Chicago, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Greenville, South Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, 7-Eleven is also giving people $7.11 off any purchase of $20 or more with the 7NOW Delivery app (use promo code 711DAY) for those who want to get items delivered directly to their home. However, it’s unclear if you can get your free Slurpee delivered or not.
They are also giving their customers a chance to enter to win $5,000 thanks to the 7-Eleven and Speedway apps. This giveaway goes until January 6, 2025.
