TikTok Loves This Mess-Free Asian Cucumber Salad Recipe: It Preps in 5 Minutes Using a Single Container
This Asian cucumber salad is the ultimate crunchy, refreshing and flavorful dish for lunch or dinner
A crisp cucumber salad never disappoints, and a TikTok creator named Logan (@logagm) is showing you how to make it without dirtying up a single bowl. He places sliced cucumbers and other ingredients in a container and shakes it until a vibrant salad forms. These salads, which have racked up millions of views, are a mess-free dish that takes five minutes to put together. Plus, you can flavor up your cucumber salad using your favorite condiments and seasonings. Here’s how to make an Asian cucumber salad with the help of this easy hack!
The ingredients in Asian cucumber salad
This salad contains cucumbers along with ingredients that are popular in Asian cuisine like soy sauce, toasted sesame oil and scallions. The ingredients are shaken in a plastic container before it’s eaten on its own or served as a side. Using this combination of ingredients creates a cucumber salad that’s tangy, sweet and nutty.
Why you should make this salad in a container
Logan’s cucumber salads are making big waves online, mainly due to the fact that they’re made in a plastic tub. This surprise trick ensures that the cucumbers are fully coated in the additional ingredients once shaken. Plus, the container makes it easy to take the salad to go or store it in the fridge for later. In his videos, he uses quart containers like these from Comfy Package. But, a large jar works fine too.
Simply slice a large cucumber into the container using a mandolin, add your desired flavorings, cover with lid and shake well. And voilà! You have a flavor-packed Asian cucumber salad without using a large bowl to mix the ingredients or needing to peel the cucumber beforehand. It’s so delicious that you may finish nearly the whole salad on your own like Logan does — and we won’t blame you!
