If you’re craving pizza but don’t want to deal with dough, sauce or a sink full of dishes, we’ve found the ultimate food hack for you: pizza croissants. These roll-ups are gooey, cheesy, pepperoni-packed bites that taste like a mini pizza pocket with almost zero effort. Thanks to store-bought crescent rolls, you can whip these up in minutes for a fun snack, game-day appetizer or even a low-fuss dinner. Whether you’re cooking for picky eaters or feeding a crowd, this viral TikTok-inspired recipe proves you don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen to enjoy pizza night.

A brilliant shortcut to that classic pizza flavor

From pizza toasts and pizza bowls to dessert pizza, social media has turned classic slices into a playground for endless creativity. With so many easy, cheesy hacks gaining traction online, it’s clear people are hungry for quicker ways to get their pizza fix, without waiting for dough to rise.

Pizza croissants are exactly what they sound like: buttery crescent dough triangles rolled up with melty mozzarella and slices of pepperoni, then baked until golden. The flaky, soft dough acts as the perfect crust, and when baked, it creates that irresistible combination of crisp edges and gooey cheese pull. This viral snack takes all the best parts of a pepperoni slice and wraps it in buttery crescent dough for a fun twist on the original.

What makes this recipe such a standout is how easy it is. There’s no sauce to simmer, no dough to stretch and no mess to clean up afterward. Most versions use classic mozzarella string cheese and pepperoni, but you can totally customize them based on your favorite pizza toppings.

Tips for making the best pizza croissants every time

Once you make these, you’ll find yourself making them again and again (because why wouldn’t you?) Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Don’t overfill. It might be tempting to stuff them with more cheese or toppings, but too much filling can cause leaks during baking.
  • Seal the edges. Press the dough firmly around the cheese before rolling to help keep everything contained.
  • Try an egg wash. For a shinier finish, brush the tops with a beaten egg instead of butter before baking.
  • Make them ahead. Assemble the croissants, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to eight hours before baking.

How to make pizza croissants at home

Here’s everything you need to know to pull off this clever snack hack with just a few ingredients and minimal prep.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-oz.) tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks (or cut a block of mozzarella into stick-like shapes)
  • 24 slices of pepperoni (3 per croissant)
  • 1 Tbs. melted butter (optional)
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 Tbs. grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Optional: marinara or pizza sauce for dipping

Directions:

  • Total time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 croissants
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Separate the crescent dough into eight triangles along the perforated lines and place them on the prepared baking sheet. On the wide end of each triangle, lay down three slices of pepperoni and one mozzarella stick.
  3. Starting from the wide end, gently roll each crescent toward the pointed tip, tucking in the sides slightly so the cheese stays sealed inside.
  4. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the tops of the croissants. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan for extra cheesy flavor.
  5. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve warm. Enjoy as-is or with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Storage notes

Leftover pizza croissants can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, pop them in a 350° F oven, toaster or air fryer for five to seven minutes until warmed through and crisp. This helps preserve the flaky crust better than microwaving.

If you’d like to freeze them, you can either freeze the croissants fully baked or assemble and freeze them unbaked. To freeze unbaked, place the assembled croissants on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. When ready to bake, pop them straight from the freezer into a 375° F oven for about 18 to 20 minutes. Baked croissants can also be frozen for up to two months.
