When we reflect on Audrey Hepburn today, we usually remember the award-winning actress in her youth, hardly surprising consider that she starred in her most memorable films — Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), Funny Face (1957), Charade (1963), and Roman Holiday (1953) — when she was still in her 20s and 30s.

Yet to us, she was just as gorgeous when she reached age 50 and beyond as she was then, and, after you see these six fabulous photos of Audrey Hepburn older, we think you’ll agree.

In the later years of her life, the late Hepburn did take a rather long break from acting and decided to focus more on maintaining her status as a goodwill ambassador at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). She also elected to spend more time with her two sons (Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Mel Ferrer), while in a very serious relationship with actor Robert Wolders during the later years of her life. Hepburn often referred to him as her husband, though they never wed.

And even though the actress might not have looked physically aged, she sometimes felt it, expressing, “What is important isn’t looking old, but to feel old. When you can’t contribute anymore, that’s when you start feeling old, and that’s the beginning of the end.”

We simply have to disagree, though, because these photos of Audrey Hepburn showcase just how beautiful and lively the actress was in the later years of her life.
