But some passengers in Colorado are surprised to find their ride comes with a friendly, four-legged surprise named Bowie. The sweet dog has taken the Internet by storm thanks to the videos posted of his many adventures on the road. Who is Bowie The Uber Dog?
This Internet-famous pup is a rescue from Albuquerque, New Mexico who now lives with his owner Kevin Ferman in Colorado. In the last year, he’s become something of a social media celebrity.
The reason? His happy face regularly greets passengers from the front of an Uber.
“My favorite thing about Bowie is his ability to win over every person he meets,” Ferman wrote in the dog’s profile for America’s Favorite Pet. “His sweet, playful demeanor makes meeting him the brightest part of people’s day.”
According to 9 News in Denver, Ferman has been an Uber driver for almost a decade, but in 2024 Bowie started tagging along for the drives. The results have been well received!
“Colorado’s such a dog-friendly place, so I knew people would like it,” he told 9 News. Those booking rides near the University of Colorado Boulder campus are particularly enamored with the pup.
How Bowie gained fans
When Bowie’s Uber adventures began, his owner thought it might be fun to share videos of the experiences on social media. It wasn’t until April 2024 that YouTube’s algorithm got the duo well-deserved attention with tens of thousands of views pouring in overnight.
The excited reactions of unsuspecting passengers are part of what makes the videos so popular. In a now-viral clip, one passenger exclaimed “Guys, we have an Uber dog.” Another chimed in with, “This is way better than, like, anything.”
Now, Bowie is known as “The Uber Dog” and has fans across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Longer videos are still posted on the YouTube channel multiple times a month with passengers just as delighted as ever by the pup.

The Smitten Dog Lovers
In this short, Bowie happily looks back at the two passengers climbing inside the vehicle. “Hi sweetie!” the woman eventually says to the friendly pup. “Oh my gosh! I’ve never been in an Uber with a dog!” she later adds. Her fellow passenger appeared just as smitten and quickly began to capture a photo or video of Bowie on the seat in front of him.
The Impressed Family
When one group of passengers climbed inside the vehicle for their ride, it didn’t take long for them to start praising Bowie for his job well done. “I hope you give him the tips,” one quipped. Ferman was quick to add that all tips go to treats.
As the ride began, another passenger was impressed by how well the pup behaved. “Dude, he’s so chill!” the customer commented.
The Happy Seat Sharer
In one YouTube short, a woman can be seen in the front passenger seat next to Bowie. “I’ve made my best friend Bowie tonight and we are snuggling in the front seat of an Uber,” she says with a giggle.
The backseat passengers were also enamored by the pup and one was happy to call him “a beauty.”
