These twins separated at birth didn’t even know each other existed. That is, until one of the little girls said she wanted a sister.

Audrey Doering, a 10-year-old girl from China who was adopted by an American family, told her mom, Jennifer, about her wish for a female sibling. Jennifer, who has three sons in addition to Audrey, decided to do the next best thing and find out more about Audrey’s biological family. And boy, were they all in for a shocker.

Jennifer came across an old newspaper ad for a female child put up for adoption that looked exactly like her little girl. Except it wasn’t her. After some research, it turned out that Audrey had an identical twin sister who had been adopted by another American family. And the other little girl’s name was Gracie Rainsberry.

“We just happened to stumble upon an extra picture and from there we were able to find that there were two of them,” said Jennifer.

Though the girls lived in different states, they were able to connect through Skype and became fast friends.

“It’s been fun and cool at the same time,” said Audrey. “Our laugh is the same, like our mannerisms, we talk the same, we like the same foods and stuff.”

But that didn’t compare to the adorable kiddos finally getting to meet in real life, thanks to the folks at Good Morning America.
