  • Spot dolphins and manatees on boat tours or explore Edison and Ford estates.
  • Perfect for families, couples or girls' trips with activities for everyone.

Craving a relaxing escape to the beach? Look no further than Fort Myers! With its palm trees, clear blue waters and pastel architecture, this Southwest Florida city is simply postcard-perfect.

Where to stay: Fort Myers resorts that deliver paradise

Resorts like Pink Shell, Margaritaville and Hyatt Regency Coconut Point—all of which boast private beach access, multiple pools and spas—check off all the boxes for a laid-back getaway. Throughout the city, there’s no shortage of waterfront dining options and local restaurants—from the elegant Matanzas on the Bay to the casual Bimini Bait Shack—that take pride in their shrimp, crab and grouper.

Fort Myers activities that make memories

While you could easily spend your entire stay in Fort Myers lounging poolside, it’s worth exploring attractions like the Edison and Ford Winter Estates—that’s right, American innovators Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were some of Florida’s earliest snowbirds! You can also book a private boat tour with companies like Tiki Pub and Adventures in Paradise to enjoy a floating party as the sun sets or a blissful day of island-hopping. There’s a chance to see manatees or dolphins as you cruise along the Gulf, and when you disembark, embrace your inner child by collecting pristine seashells.

Plan an unforgettable Fort Myers girls’ weekend

Fort Myers’ chill and colorful energy also makes it an ideal spot for a girls’ trip. The Hibiscus House, a bed-and-breakfast, and Azaleas on the Corner, a downtown destination featuring art classes and wine tastings, are both owned by dynamic mother-daughter duos—and the two spots have all the cozy charm of a summertime Hallmark rom-com.

Whether you’re hoping to veg out, party with your gal pals or have fun with your family, Fort Myers offers many paths to beachy bliss. For more info, see VisitFortMyers.com.
